I think there was a poster called Nulvalue or something like that. He always seemed to have good stuff to say.

And how about WRellim. His analysis of the RP campaign reports was valuable.

Sematary really provided good commentary and his actions are second to none.

As far as mods and admins go, Bryan, Cowlesy, LibertyEagle, RonPaulHawaii are all good. Don't hear from Josh much so I can't say.

As far as us "little people" go, yongrel is a hoot, acptulsa is also often funny and has good, substantial posts.

Perhaps we ought to have categories, like the Grammy's. :D Like, most humorous, most inspirational, most educational, most topical, most helpful, etc...

Tell you what. Get the mod's to run some kind of legitimate poll on poster of the year. The winner will receive from me a mint state American Silver Eagle. Others that would like to sweeten the pot are welcome to chime in.

Good way to liven up the joint;-)

Yea good question. :(

Can I change my vote then?

Paul Fan 05!
Or Abe... I dunno which 10 I could choose. :D

As for the "proper polling idea run by the mods" (above post) - fine, if only there is an option "The only person I'm voting for is Ron Paul." is there.. :p

I nominate Dr. 3D because he posted the funniest thing I've ever read here:

When I was a kid, I would sit in the bathtub and catch my farts in a glass under water.
I would then set the glass on the bottom of the tub and let the water out.

Later, when my mother would come in and see the glass, she would pick it up and enjoy the surprise I left for her.--Originally posted by Dr. 3D

You should start a new thread.

"RPF's year 1 Awards"

First nomination threads--perhaps one for each category. Then come the polls. First we need to confirm the categories.

I really prefer the idea of meritocracy awards to popularity awards. Anyone disagree? Little of both?

Okay, that sounds smart. So we have 1 thread for each category, for the nominations. If 2 people nominate someone, they go on the poll.

Thanks for the notes, I certainly appreciate them. :) I will say, with over 1.3 million messages posted here it is almost impossible to narrow things down- there are so many people on this forum that have helped make this movement that has, and is, changing America that I couldn't even begin to start.

On the voting machines- the security on our online polls makes diebold look like Fort Knox with it being very easy to change vote totals, or even change the entries of what is on the poll. Best to keep site staff off the voting lists. :p:D:)

I'll definitely provide an additional second or vote for Revolution9 - Randy's merciless (and extremely entertaining) mocking of the trolls and shills of various stripes should be an inspiration to us all. We need to follow his example in publicly exposing, mocking, and shaming these types of traitors in our city council meetings, statehouse testimony, and local Republican meetings.

Runner up for inspirational value to the forum as a whole would have to go to DeepThroat. It came at a time when it was sorely needed.

But I notice that the ladies of this forum have gone unrecognized in this thread! With that in mind, I offer the following nominations for three beautiful ladies:

Agent CSL - Laura's passion is equaled by her sense of humor, and is without parallel on this forum. She shows an intellegence and understanding of the issues facing our country that is unusual for someone her age. In addition, she also had one of the best avatars, if not the best avatar on RPF (I'm referring to her old one, before she changed it) - those rolled eyes and the expression on her face conveyed her personality perfectly - absolutely adorable! Best quote: "/whore" Classic! That had me laughing for like a week! I'll bet her PM inbox filled up within 10 minutes of her starting that thread, and can you really blame the guys for that?

ConstitutionGal - Equally passionate in her beliefs as the previous nominee, she is without doubt RPF's unequalled champion of parental rights and homeschooling. Those that have tried to argue with her on these issues get ripped to shreds, everytime. Best quote: "I'm not raising a socialist" Another classic! Gonna have to remember that one for future use! Her husband is surely one lucky guy, I wonder if he's on the forums as well? Her children are damn lucky too, dosen't everyone wish that they had a mother like her? (I know I sure do, my parents are unfliching democrats who believe the government is always right in everything they do - ugh)

....and as runner-up....

LiberalDemForRP - I'll nominate this fine young lady for her realization that her liberal beliefs are actually libertarian beliefs. Most "liberals" are actually libertarian and don't know it yet, they only see themselves as being against the neocons and vote for the lesser of two evils. While this forum member hasn't posted any memorable quotes or displayed the passion of the other nominees, we really have to give her credit for "crossing over" and not voting for the lesser or two evils. She hasn't been active here for a couple of months, hopefully she will return and continue to grace us with her presence, as well as become more politically active.
