You can ask them to point out Ron Paul as an anti-war candidate too. Here is the link.

The following is what I wrote.

--------------------------------

Dear Move On,

I am an anti-War Republican Move On member.

Ron Paul is the only Anti War Republican running for President. I think MoveOn should highlight this to its membership.

While MoveOn members might disagree with his stance on other issues, the War is something we agree on. Ron Paul has the guts to stand up during debates to Rudy’s and Mitt’s lies and fear mongering and tell America to get out of Iraq. He also teaches Republicans about blowback and the follies of preemption. MoveOn should point out that effort, and maybe even support him.

A great video is the following where Ron Paul stands up to Rudy Giuliani.

Ron Paul vs. Rudy Guiliani at the Republican Debate

Let’s not forget Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and John Edwards all voted for the Iraq War - endorsing Hitler's doctrine of preemption. Hillary also voted for the Patriot Act, which Rep. Paul has opposed. He has more in common with MoveOns members than most of the Democrats.

Sincerley,

Republican Move On Member

LOL.

I think I'll send them my FAVORITE anti-war video...the one with Ron Paul being interviewed by Bill Moyers circa 2002.

Good idea in theory, but there's not a chance in hell they're going to promote a republican just because he's anti-war. They basically control the DNC now..

You can ask them to point out Ron Paul as an anti-war candidate too. I don't want to discourage you, but MoveOn isn't really antiwar. They're more pro-Democrat than anything. I subscribe to their newsletters just to keep up with them.

Congress’s failure to secure a timetable for withdrawing American troops from Iraq has split anti-war activists on the tactical question of whether to attack Democrats, who now control Capitol Hill.

The split has also underlined accusations among some activists that MoveOn has abandoned its credentials as an issue-based advocacy group and now instead provides cover for Democratic Party leaders.

Anti-war activists throughout the country are united in spending August pressing lawmakers to bring U.S. troops home. But tensions within the movement have been bubbling for months over tactics and whether their fire should be aimed exclusively at Republicans.

You don't see MoveOn criticizing Pelosi or Clinton, both uber-hawks.

I'm not even all that sure MoveOn opposes the Iraq war. Sure, they rallied opposition during the lead-up to the invasion a few years back, but since then they've done little if anything that should garner the respect of the antiwar movement. Despite Kerry's grotesque position on the Iraq war in 2004, MoveOn implored their members to donate cash to his campaign, but said nary a word about his pro-war posturing. You can't support a candidate without putting demands on their candidacy, and MoveOn's breakdown has made them all but irrelevant as an antiwar club.
Case in point. Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York has continued to support Bush's war in Iraq as well as his greater war on terror, yet MoveOn refuses to voice frustration. Instead, they support the war-hungry senator and admit they won't stand up to her during an election year.
"The case I would make is that 2006 needs to be a year of reckoning for Republicans on Iraq," Tom Matzzie, the Washington director for MoveOn recently told the New York Times. "If the antiwar candidate is creamed by Hillary Clinton, it's a distraction."
A distraction from what? If I remember correctly, it wasn't just the Republican Party that got us into this dreadful mess. The Democrats voted for it, helped sell the damn thing, and even bombed the hell out of Iraq during the 1990s, all the while supporting deadly UN sanctions. And as Americans begin to turn on this war, including prominent elected officials from both parties, Hillary still won't retract her defense of the war, let alone meet with genuine antiwar activists here in New York.
All of this, and the feckless MoveOn.org still won't call Hillary out for her warmongering.
MoveOn is nothing more than a cover for the Democratic Party. Issues are no matter. Partisan politics are. We've got a war going on, and advocacy groups who allegedly oppose it should stand up to it, not pander to those who do. The best way to force the New York senator to change her position on the war is to run an antiwar campaign against her during 2006 from outside of the Democratic Party.

Anyway, don't be too disappointed if you never hear back from them.

We need to flood them with this message. The Democrats are FOR the war. Hillary Clinton is not for immediate withdrawal, plain and simple. And Obama wants to bomb Pakistan. Ron Paul is their only legitimate option from either party besides Dennis Kucinich.

This is a great article written by a left winger on this subject that even mentions Ron Paul.

I guess some of you missed this thread:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070731/pl_nm/campaign_usa_freedom_dc;_ylt=ArTmgFPVaGSjUf4e1Dwc3 gAa.3QA

"Moveon.org co-founder Wes Boyd said the campaign aimed to show politicians, especially Democrats, that there was public support for principles of civil liberties. "Democrats often fall victim to the charge that they're not security-focused, that they're soft. We believe that's nonsense," he said.

Boyd likened the campaign to a movement launched earlier this year by the "American Freedom Agenda," a conservative legal group which promotes limits to government power.

"It is going on both sides of the aisle," Boyd told Reuters. He also pointed to Republican candidate Ron Paul, a libertarian longshot who has been outspoken in criticizing Bush and called for closing the Guantanamo Bay military prison."

I may not hear back from them, but it wont stop me from trying.

Before Iowa I called 50 people and only got through to 4, I left 30 messages.

In doing that, I realized I need to find a "force amplifier" so i am looking at ways and forums that will pfovide free advertising. I write letters to the editors and contact groups that are open to his message.

The founders were willing to die for liberty. I am just trying to get their message out.

A Democrat friend (I'm Republican) told me about MoveOn.org awhile back so was receiving their emails. Sent them many emails over the last 6 months with no reply. Emails concerned their one-sided nature of bashing Republicans but not Democrats, supporting pro-War Democrats, them sending a thank you letter to ONLY the Democrats who voted against continuing funding for the Iraq War, etc. Wrote them about RP, too.

I decided to discontinue receiving emails from them and told them why. They are part of the paradigm thinking that is so destructive to this country, and are influencing many of their members to support the likes of Hillary and Obama. They want a Democrat in the oval office no matter what, and are probably sold out. Actually, obviously sold out. They are big lefties anyway, and are not going to support a small gov't Republican.

Writing them is a waste of time, IMO. Our time is better spent elsewhere. Plenty of their members would rather swallow knives than ever vote for a Republican anyway.

The COOL thing is that new Ron Paul supporters can be found in almost ANY demographic. Which should make our job that much easier!
