Very well thought out. What are you going to do with it? Hubby's a printer if you give thought to wanting some copies...(Especially to sending at least 2 to the white house...LOL!!!)

Hate to be a party pooper, but some of the language concerns me. It sounds like it may have been written by MoveOn.org. It doesn't emphasize republican principles - separation of powers - checks and balances. It mistakenly believes the America is a democracy. We have threads on that.

Then the whole bit about the whole world coming together and joining as brothers and sisters reeks of collectivism.

I appreciate the sentiment and the overall objective, but I would rather see a document that moves more toward a world based on individualism. I don't think this document goes far enough in that direction.

Damn. My stupid finger clicked when it should have drug, and I lost a 5 point post of constructive criticism.

Quickly, the points that I remember having expounded were:

1. Need plain-font copy.
2. Need to pick a single writing style (Colonial or Modern Legal)
3. There is no actual Declaration of any new movement, just a list of grievances.

I really like it, appreciate the effort, and wanted to help improve it!

Ron Paul will never support this, and neither can I.

Doubt it was written by one concerned citizen, and I am certain it is not written by a conservative libertarian. I would carefully examine the wording, message, and motives before throwing all your support behind this cleverly crafted document.

Those were my thoughts, too, but I wanted to state my position more gently for our new member.

I think it would benefit our thread-bearer, Mr. Mattern, for him to read the Creed of Freedom on http://www.freedomforceinternational.org/freedom.cfm?fuseaction=creed (http://www.freedomforceinternational.org/freedom.cfm?fuseaction=creed)

Understand that our cause is not just about overturning one administration. It's about overturning the whole trend of government. Otherwise, we'll find ourselves rewriting this Public Opinion Declaration every four years.

Okay I got the picture.
I must say, I'm only one guy.
But what say we get our arguments and Declarations together and come up with
one substantial result !!!!!!!!!!

miniscule of the other side, to mention.

Why do you want to impeach Bush with only 9 months left in his term? Dennis Kucinich has authored a bill to impeach Cheney, but no one seems to be taking it very seriously.

The Bush Administration is already in Lame Duck status now. Impeachment proceedings should have been started in 2006.

A final note, I think it was brilliant strategy for Bush to have Cheney as his vice president. Impeachment would have resulted in an even more undesireable situation with Cheney as President.

The form of government the Founders formed is called a Republic, not a Democracy. The Founders "despised" Democracy. The word Democracy is not in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, nor the Bill of Rights. The "Pledge of Allegience" even mentions it: "...and to the Republic for which it stands..."

I think a really great video to watch on the subject is called: Overview of America - it's on the John Birch Society's youtube channel (in 4 parts) or it's on google video (in 1 segment). It's about 30 minutes long and really great!

Thanks I'll check that out..

just because our founders didn't use the name Democracy, doesn't mean we can't use it, and mean it.

Too be honest, I think if you simply remove the current event stuff, to only conclude and add on to the point that we will not tolletare a government that is not for the people of the people, and that government is on watch...

This could be the basis of a long lasting reaffirmation of the people, to include current events, only makes it relate to current days.

Understand the difference between Republic and Democracy. The Federal Government was a Republic gauranteing ALL United States citizens those fundamaental rights. And it was there job to protect those rights not The Politicians mad quest for power and money. Not to allow 51% to steal or force something against the 49%. Democracy without a Constitutional Republic is equivalent to Mob Rule.
