Vern McKinley Addresses the RLC-Virginia
Vern McKinley is a candidate for Congress in Virginia's 10th District. Last Saturday, he came to the Republican Liberty Caucus of Virginia to seek the group's endorsement.

In this video of McKinley's remarks, he lays out the case for why the RLC-Virginia should endorse him rather than his opponent, incumbent Representative Frank Wolf. (I have incorporated a PowerPoint presentation that McKinley brought to the meeting into the video of his speech; the PowerPoint slides all appear in Part I of the video.)

McKinley points out how Wolf's ratings with the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) have fallen precipitously over the past 13 years, and that Wolf compares unfavorably on several other ratings scales with Congressmen Jeff Flake (R-Arizona) and Ron Paul (R-Texas), who are often cited by RLC members as among the Members of Congress whose positions are closest to the Founders' vision of how a constitutional republic should be governed.

He also shows how Frank Wolf's record parallels that of Maryland Representive Wayne Gilchrest, who was recently defeated in a party primary that focused on many of the same issues that, McKinley believes, make Wolf vulnerable.

The entire video lasts for about 13 minutes, but I had to split it per YouTube's 10-minute-limit rule.

Vern has accepted a term-limit pledge. And unlike Wolf, he'll abide by it!

good for him! i just was talkin' to the brother of a possible senatorial candidate!
this year has MANY races where there is no challenger or few challengers! up in
new york state, it did occure to me if hillary clinton in the next few months or years
actually achieves something like the vice-presidency or a cabinet position... it might
open up a seat in the senate! likewise, if vern mckinley thinks about those two seats...
or!!!... even, the governor's mansion in richmond... perhaps... or... like who knows!!!

here is a link that tells us a few things about a campaign of yesteryear!
hope i am not pedantic http://www.daylife.com/topic/William_McKinley/articles/all/relevance/1
rather than being doctrinaire, more than a century ago on the tariff issue
we have a flexibility. is the changing of the focus of the Fed inherently setting
up a panic in this electronic era? were nearly all the banking controls by the
new dealers wise? our grandparents saw high tariffs after one of the worst
speculative rides in our history. credit and borrowing. where is the Fed going?
curiously enough, the telegraph made possible war communications and strategy
moves in less than a half hour on two seperate oceans. the underseas cables
also meant we could follow europe's gov'ts and markets. marshall mcluhan's
"Understanding Media" is a must read. is the Fed trying to modernize to the
internet age and fecklessly gutting controls? the recent billions in the french
banking scandal. as banks fall, a dominoe effect. german banks with jitters.
global markets with upswings and downswings. it feels like 1907 and hints of 1929...
as we modernized into the 20th century, we had an uncertain transit. is the fed wise?
