The Economy, because if the economy starts to lose (or, is losing) its ground, everything will follow it.

If we have a good economy, we can even survive bad politics

The most important campaign issue is the National Debt, which is certainly related to the economy, but not in ways that are presented by so-called mainstream candidates. I voted economy, but I'd rather have National Debt as a choice.
