(ABC Twin Cities Channel 5 News, 3/24) An antiwar group that plans to march during the Republican National Convention is suing the city of St. Paul to find out their route.

The city has granted the group a permit, but the protesters are worried that they'll be limited to a route that doesn't bring them within sight and sound of the Xcel Center. That's where the convention will be held September 1.

"We've worked hard to make sure all viewpoints have been heard through the planning process, including the Coalition to March on the RNC. We've done more to protect free speech than any other convention city before us. We're proud of that and we're going to continue to move forward in good faith in planning a safe convention for the thousands of visitors here in September," said a spokesperson for the St. Paul Police Department.

The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Minneapolis. Lawyers from the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota and the National Lawyers Guild say they'll ask for an expedited ruling.

Jeepers. DOn't they realize that free speech zones will have been set up just for them? Some people are just soooooo ungrateful.
