Although it's a brand new campaign, I'd like to throw out Michael Delevar.

Michael is the wife of Katja Delevar, who was our Vancouver, WA/Portland, OR meetup founder. She was also the SW WA campaign coordinator and the biggest reason that we won the caucuses for Ron Paul here in Clark County.

Michael is a great guy who's suspending his job as a pilot to run against Democrat Brian Baird here in WA. The website is brand new and still a little skimpy (the press release for the campaign was made last week). We're going to be working hard here to do everything that we can do get Michael elected.

Check him out at http://www.delavarforcongress.com/

This site doesn't say which state, much less which district, he's running in.

:-(

It looks like a local site looking for local support. It should clearly show the state and district. I assumed it was Washington because under the section "The Delavar Family" it said he, his wife, and two children "live in Washougal, in southwest Washington."

It is a decent site other than the fact it didn't state what he might think is obvious, and it couldn't accept my donation. ;)

Thanks for the input, I've emailed to make sure they're aware of this. I talked to his wife yesterday and the donation was working fine. Hopefully just a glitch. Like I said, the site is a work in progress. I offered to help them update content (press releases and such), so we'll see how that goes.

Are there any specific issues that you think should be added to the page? Obviously the district should be prominent, I was suprised to not find it on the site yesterday.

Thanks and I'll keep you updated :)

Press Release from last week's annoucement:

----------------------------------

March 13, 2008, Michael Delavar announces running for Congress.

Michael Delavar is announcing his candidacy for the US House of Representatives for Washington’s third congressional district. His platform calls for sound monetary policy, no amnesty for illegal aliens, and a stronger national defense. Mr. Delavar, a Republican, insists that the deepening economic troubles for America are rooted in Congress’ disregard for sensible monetary policy over special interests.

“I think Americans understand that the reasons for the approaching recession are out-of-control spending coupled with the government’s appetite for printing money when it cannot tax enough. Simply put, America cannot afford this level of spending without either raising taxes to obscene heights, or debasing our currency, which cannot continue indefinitely. What cannot continue must stop at some point, and I fear that we are quickly reaching that point where our nation is on the verge of bankruptcy.”

Mr. Delavar, a Washougal resident and native Washingtonian, addressed about thirty supporters Wednesday night to kick off his run for the congressional seat. “As we look at the issues in this campaign, one thing is clear. Americans know that certain policies in DC must end if we are going to remain a sovereign nation,” he said, then added, “I should say that the American people know we are in trouble. It is our elected officials that act as if this can continue indefinitely.”

Mr. Delavar pointed to Brian Baird’s track record on illegal immigration and taxes as part of the problem. “I will never vote for amnesty,” Mr. Delavar announced. “We must first secure our own borders, end taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens, enforce our existing immigration laws, and end birthright citizenship for illegal aliens. As for taxes, I pledge to never vote for a tax increase. I will never vote for an unbalanced budget. I will always speak out against government waste. I will also speak out against the role Congress plays in debasing our currency, causing inflation.”

The Committee to Elect Delavar for Congress has created a website, www.delavarforcongress.com. His campaign can be reached by phone at (360) 771-4858, or by email at inquiries@delavarforcongress.com.

Michael Delavar was born and raised in Bremerton, Washington, where his father worked at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. His parents home-schooled Michael and his three siblings. After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Colorado, Michael pursued his passion for flying as a pilot. From 2000 until the present, he has been employed by a local airline. Now a captain, Delavar is willing to put his aviation career on hold while he pursues running for Congress. Mr. Delavar, his wife, Katja, and their two young children live in Washougal just east of Vancouver, Washington.

On the OP, put a little description of what each link is

Example - Brent Sanders - Congressional Campaign

Liberty PAC - General Ron Paul supported Fund

etc.

That way people can quickly see who's running and who's supporting.

We've already put this billboard up in Yankton, Sioux Falls, and Sturgis.
http://files.meetup.com/651361/Ron%20Paul%20Billboard.JPG

Now, we're working on getting money collected for Rapid City.
We need about $890 for Rapid City, and then it's onward to Brookings, Aberdeen, Watertown, and Peire.

Costs for Billboards in Brookings are $495, Watertown $595, Pierre $495., Aberdeen is $595, Mitchell $495. Plus the $150 fee for making the board. So about $650 total for Brookings, Piere, and Mitchell, and $750 for Aberdeen.

John Dennis and I are running for seats on the San Francisco Republican Central Committee. I've made a couple (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=132407) posts (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=134079) about our campaign on the main forum.

We have a good shot at getting elected but we need to fund a direct mail campaign ahead of the election on June 3rd. I believe this is an important cause - central committees are the foundations of power for the party and we need to get as many Ron Paul Republicans on these committees as we can if we want this to be a lasting revolution. Getting a couple of strong voices for liberty on the committee in a major city like San Francisco would be great step. Please help us out with a donation (http://electjohnandjason.chipin.com/elect-john-and-jason) and thanks very much for the support!
