It sure works for me! That would make him third in line for the presidency.

RP as Speaker of the House would be resisted by the DNC & RNC almost as much as RP in the White House.

assuming over the next two to four years he stays where
he is and waits, if he keeps winning his seat again and again,
he if there are more newbie republicans sweeping in could find
the democrats in a minority as the current 25 representatives in
the GOP ahead of him either retire or are defeated! in 2012 he will be 76
going onto 77 and if Ron Paul right is in VERY good health, he could
be quite spry at 80 or 90 years of age. more power to him! i say!

in the senate, byrd of west virginia is almost 90 years of age,
and the late strom thurmond of S.C reached his century mark!!!

Like I said in the dupe thread:

Ron Paul's chances of becoming Speaker next session are even lower than that of becoming President. The Republicans can't possibly take back the House after the last eight years. Even if that were possible, Ron Paul has to be the one representative least like his Republican companions.

The position of speaker has nothing to do with seniority.

If the Dems win POTUS, Americans have often preferred to have government "gridlock". Personally, I like it lots! :D

The speaker is selected by the majority party - you'd have to replace hundreds of both neo-con Rs and socialist Ds with real conservatives at a stroke to make Ron Paul the Speaker of the House.

Besides, Ron Paul is already the speaker of truth in the House of Representatives. That's good enough for me :) .

Yeah, but in the real world, one or two more would be great.

Went to government schools?

The speaker is the leader elected by the party in the majority. Ron Paul has zero chance.
