Here is the latest update from Aaron Bolinger:

Rep. Sam Rohrer just sent out a 'Dear Colleague' letter to all the HB 1351 (Anti-Real ID) sponsors, asking them to join with Rep. Payne on HB 194 as well. This bill, as you may recall, begins the process of UNTYING social slavery numbers from PA licensing, of all types. Though the bill is not perfect for our purposes in its current format, it is a good start (considering how far down the slippery slope these SSN’s already are).

I am hopeful that Rep. Payne will likewise ask his sponsors to join Sam’s anti-Real ID bill. There are a number of different sponsors on each, so this could spark a FLOOD of new sign-on’s quickly to both.

You folks are the glue for the plan to work. Make the calls, especially to YOUR OWN rep, if you see he is on one but not the other! This spreadsheet (http://files.meetup.com/1029979/PA_Reps.xls) shows who is on which bills. You will also note there is a column ('C') that shows the sponsors of the Anti-North American Union HR 278 by Surra. Same concept. Make the calls, and tie our sponsorships together! (Hopefully Reps. Rohrer and Payne will contact Rep. Surra, and help there as well.)

If you do not know who your rep is, check here:

Say this:

'I notice you are signed on to (X) but not (Y) and (Z). These bills and resolutions all are part of the same larger picture, and by sponsoring one of them, you really should co-sponsor them all. Etc.'

Simple message, easy calls. Rep. Ellis just signed onto 194. Rep. Payne has just come on to HB 1351! (He is the sponsor of 194, and was VERY reluctant to sign on. Because of the press from our people, and Rep. Rohrer, he has made the plunge!)

This spreadsheet (http://files.meetup.com/1029979/PA_Reps.xls) has been updated with the recent adds on all these bills.

To track them as this continues, watch these pages (it could be wild for the next week):

HB 194: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/BI/BH/2007/0/HB0194.HTM
HB 1351: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/BI/BH/2007/0/HB1351.HTM
HR 278: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/BI/BH/2007/0/HR0278.HTM

This is a KEY strategy right now. W. Curtis Thomas is sitting on ALL three of these. By adding all our sponsors together, you could very well see enough, or very close to enough sponsors, to pull the total needed for a VETO OVER-RIDE! (Goal: 135 sponsors on all three.)

PRESS HARD, and PRESS NOW for the sponsors.

The committee hearing on Real ID for Scranton has been 'postponed.' The stated reason is a scheduling conflict, but I sense something brewing. We want hearings on these three items of legislation, and that might be what is coming. But it will be USELESS unless we have both the votes in the committee, AND enough to over-ride a probable veto by Gov. Rendell!

SPONSORS, SPONSORS, SPONSORS!!!!!!!

Get on the phones. Get on the e-mailings. Post this memo to EVERY BLOG you know of.

Get these uncommitted people ON THESE BILLS AS SPONSORS NOW!

Light up the phones in Harrisburg AND the district offices of these people.

This is it folks. SHOW TIME. We showed our force in Pittsburgh. I think PennDOT’s Secretary, Mr. Meyers, is tired of getting beat up in these 'hearings.' Could be those shows are over, and they know the public is fuming over Real ID.

Let’s not allow an opportunity like this to slip by. NO BREAK. Charge in there and let’s get it done.

Take some people and go to Harrisburg THIS WEEK to help Jim in the trenches. Get in these people’s hair like lice, and stick there like a wood tick.

Friends and family calls, visits, picket their district offices and distribute flyers if necessary. I came here to WIN, and by crackey, I can smell it.

More later.
