I think we should get with our Meetup Groups and try to purchase at least one copy of Ron Paul's new book for each county library branch.

http://www.amazon.com/Revolution-Manifesto-Ron-Paul/dp/0446537519/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1205894239&sr=8-1

We've got 21 branches here:

http://jpl.coj.net/lib/branches/index.html

With 346 members, we should be able to pull it off.

:D

Er, so how exactly do we expect the revolution to succeed if nobody likes even this basic concept?

I guess threads such as "Is he a prophet?" or "start getting angry" or "vote NOW!" or "troll alert- GoPaul08" are much more entertaining despite being far less practical and/or useful to our intent.

Sigh...

I might do it. I'm purchasing copies for myself and a few friends. If I have some extra scratch I may pick up two for the libraries nearby.

I pre-ordered another 2 copies for my town library. Praise Xenu for Amazon gift certificates.

Be sure to get the library editions. They have special binding so they don't fall apart from repeated use. :)

How do we order the library editions?

Good idea. And yea, how do we do the special bindings?

Do libraries put all new donated books into circulation?

You should be able to get library books at the publisher's site or at least find info there on how to order them. I had a home business w/Usbourne books at one time and books not made for library circulation don't last very long because of all the handling, drop boxes, etc.

Before you order them , call your library and ask them how they accept donated new books. My library will order any book I want, supposedly, but they sell any donated books at an adjoined used bookstore.

Other libraries we could hit--
1. college libraries
2. high school libraries
3. hospital libraries

Also, if you know of any pro-RP buisinesses, perhaps you could offer to preorder some for them to display for sale. Or ,just talk them into ordering a few.

Maybe we need to design an adhesive label to stick inside the cover, like "presented with love from Liberty PAC" with website info and a phone number.

I've been thinking of a way to do this, and to spread Mises.org publications to libraries as well.

A sort of book bomb, but an organized and ongoing campaign. Information on how to get the books through your library, how to purchase the books and donate to your library etc.

Could a non-profit be established to facilitate the collection of donations (books and cash) for distribution to libraries?

do a rough estimate on the number of books that you
could distribute/donate to the nation. Since that number
will be in the 1,000, simply get quotes for 1,000 2,000
5,000 & 10,000 and SEE where you get the best
'book for everyone's $'.

(I know this is for Dr. Paul... we can still be conservative
with our $$$. Plus, one big order of 5,000 would be much
better than few hundred here and there.)

Then create a chipin and maybe a website so that you
can track the counties/states.

p.s. I might be able to set you up at www.StandAndUnite.com

I think this is a great idea. I also HOPE that somebody has pointed out to Dr. Paul that releasing an inexpensive paperback version would allow grassroots to purchase many more copies to give away to neighbors, co-workers, family and friends.

I'd personally like to see a 300 million copy book run, with one copy for every person of reading age. :)

Edit: Could this "book bomb" have real potential to penetrate a substantial percentage of the public if we raised 20-30 million dollars? How many paperback copies could we get with the volume that $30 million implies? Imagine even 10 million copies of the paperback in circulation!

Get it in paperback and distribute 10,000 copies to each
of the remaining 10 states!!!

Let the libraries buy them and save your money. Just go in and request the book. :)

+1

We could still mass distribute them to whoever just
as with RonPaulNewspaper

Here's a great way to find pro-Ron Paul businesses: http://www.libertydollar.org/ld/spend-liberty-dollars/index.htm

Punch in your ZIP code. If a business accepts liberty dollars, you KNOW they either know and love Ron Paul, or are just waiting for his message. I, in my puny-ass town in southeast Iowa, found that several places a couple towns over accept the Liberty Dollar. That tells me I have some friends fairly nearby.

At last Satuday's county convention, there was a table where they were trying to sell books. There were books by various Republican politicians, but no Ron Paul books. I recommend we donate some Ron Paul books for our local GOP's to sell as fundraisers. They might actually sell something...LOL.

Would Dr. Paul approve of using tax payer funds at the library to further his political message?

I mean, you have to admit that using public finance to spread the Manifesto is fairly ironic...

It's better than spending tax payers funds on the latest socialist or NWO agenda propaganda.<IMHO>

It's called gaming the "system" for your purposes. :) I really enjoy irony, like Andrew Jackson's picture on the $20 FRN.

Thanks!

It took a while but they did put my donation into circulation. It was a regular copy from Barnes & Noble.
