This is for those of you that have doubted my posts about the delegate process

Have you read the papers?

Ron Paul wins here where it counts......GOP hopeful takes county convention despite defeats in primary.....It appears that solid strategy and a well-organized grassroots campaign put Ron Paul on top at the Whatcom County Republican Party convention this weekend. While there are no hard figures yet, county GOP Chairman Chet Dow said it appears that Paul received the majority of delegates who will be sent to the summer state convention in Spokane. From there, delegates will be selected for the national convention.

How did that happen when Paul had neither the most delegates from the county caucuses nor the primary in February?
“One word: organization,” Dow said.

Ron Paul backers succeed in guerrilla takeover of some GOP caucuses

Never before had St. Charles County Republican Party Chairman Jon Bennett received so many queries about where this year's party caucus was to be held. And Bennett didn't recognize most of the callers.

On Saturday, Bennett learned why. Dozens of avid supporters of Ron Paul, a Texas congressman who is running a renegade quest for the presidential nomination, staged a political guerrilla attack. At that caucus at St. Peters City Hall — as well as others across the state — party regulars like Bennett were overwhelmed.

The result: Paul's supporters predict they have snagged roughly a third of the 2,137 state Republican delegates. Those delegates will determine the state GOP platform this spring and help select the presidential delegates to the national Republican presidential convention in Minneapolis in September.

Ron Paul supporters control Republican county conventions

A Ron Paul volunteer and organizer in Kansas City confirms that the Jackson County Republican caucus elected a nearly-complete slate of Paul delegates at its convention Saturday.

Larry Holland says the caucus elected more than 170 Paul delegates out of an estimated 187 available. Those delegates will eventually, directly and indirectly, pick delegates to the Republican National Convention.

Erm, the disagreement isn't whether one can be a delegate or not, but rather the process of becoming delegate.

It is not safe to say that one process that works in one state will be also true in another state. Every state has their own rules and process of becoming delegates, and thus I encourage everyone to find out their states' rules and understand the process and not just rely on national rules or one-size-fits-all advices.
