I guess I don't understand who the middle class are... Why would they care about welfare? Aren't we talking like 30k+ annual?

That is a Democrat front group. To them, it is anti-middle class to vote to secure the borders and against amnesty.

Out of curiosity, how old are you, Kludge? Obviously too young to be living on your own if you think that $30,000 a year is middle class.

30K a year was ONCE middle class.

I think that was back in 1983.

Funny thing, in the last ten years, the income level of all the 'classes' has gone up, but my own income has been flat...

That was over 20 years ago.......

I think middle class now is you own your home with NO debt..........

exactly!

People can't afford a home with 30k unless they live in states not hit by the high home prices.

See, this is why some regulations are okay.

very very few people in this country own their houses- free of debt.

As housing prices continue to fall, (a 9% drop as of today, over last year) less and less people will own, less of their homes today over last year.

Today's middle class are really the working poor. You must work, just to be poor to middle class, even duel income families are just barely middle class, if not the poor.

Did you look at the scoring on other politicians?

This is the biggest bunch of garbage and grading I have ever seen!

I love that Senator Chris Dodd, that sold US all out to the Banking and Financial Institutions and is one of the biggest Lobbyist accepting WHORES in Washington DC... gets an (A+) lol!

The middle class is practically indistinguishable from the lower class now.

Settle down, guys.

From the look sof it, this is a more left-wing ratings group, if Dodd is among the highest rated. They have a set of criteria which they base these on. It probably has to do with votes regarding medicare, welfare, affirmative action, etc, which Ron Paul would vote against but most liberals would vote for.

So from a standpoint of a democratic voter who supports stuff like that, Ron Paul gets a D.

There are many, many of these ratings groups out there. This is not based on some sort of bias against Ron Paul or whatever. It's just the criteria they set. There are pro-choice and pro-life groups which rate the candidates as well. I'm sure RP recieves high marks from the pro-life groups and bad marks from the pro-choice ones.

If you want a rating system which RP gets ultra-high marks, look the 'house scorecard' at

http://councilfor.cagw.org/site/PageServer?pagename=reports_Ratings_Intro

They rate RP as '95%, taxpayer superhero'. According to that criteria, no Democrat is rated higher than 80%. [most are less than 20%!].

So there's no need to go ape over this or send nasty emails or anything. It's just how RP fits in their rating system.

Any group willing to give Dodd an A+ in anything isn't meant to be taken seriously.

Well, Gun Owners of America gives Obama, Hillary, and McCain all F minuses, but Ron Paul an A. (maybe an A plus, I don't recall off hand)

Even that ratings system is dumb. He didn't get 100% for voting against a bill increasing the power of the President and another that created managed trade between Oman and the US.

I can remember as a kid thinking I wanted to be fairly successful in life, like making 20k/yr, which would afforded my own house and reasonably fresh car....:)

Hold the phone!

You mean to tell me that if someone doesnt vote for every new bill that is presented, which is apparently the way this site works, you get a lower grade? Then lets help get RP up to getting an F!

An F--- from that socialist nut-house of a site would have been more desirable.

I have to agree. Getting an A on that site is like having Charles Manson as a character witness.

Not for the middle anything.

After skimming middleclass.org I immediately saw it for what it is: a left wing Democrat tool to dupe those who ARE middle class into thinking entitlement programs designed for the poor and uneducated will somehow help them.

Nonsense.

This information can be easily confirmed by checking the "grades" of fiscal conservatives in both parties against the tax and spend hacks of the left.

This is of course a typical and tiresome ruse from the liberal wing of the Democrat party.

Democrats and education often prey upon the guilt of the "privileged classes." Their survey is clearly biased toward the welfare state. Against it and you're against the middle class.

IMHO Ron Paul is the only politician who is a real friend of the middle class. He sees how the welfare state creates a two class system: The serfs and the selected elite.
