Not by someone trying to sell you gold, so it should be unbiased.
There have been several threads about buying gold here- I thought it might be nice to have this info at the top of a thread- not burried in one. From Money Magazine. The dollar amounts will be different since it was written in 1987, but the "what to buy" is still current.

And remember, the more that everyday investors get into an investment, the more likely it is headed for a bubble. Just look at stocks and housing.
