Some of you may have read about the $42M that the government was spending to tell you that your checks are on the way (http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/03/08/tax.letter.ap/index.html)

Well, it gets worse than that! Apparently now so many people are asking questions, the IRS has to move people around to take care of the demand. Total lost: 681M.

That puts us 700M in the hole BEFORE A SINGLE CHECK HAS BEEN SENT!

Read more about the story here:

And remember, when you have conversations and the "stimulus" comes up, let people know what's going on!

Sadly, the waste is irrelevant to Keynesian stimulists who would be happy to pay 2 people to negate each other, but the waste merely worsens the wealth loss in home equity.

It's funny and sad at the same time. When you go to the link you put out there the first thing that should strike so many is the incredible irony - that's when you laugh (and probably most of the rest of America). You sink into depression, though, when you are educated (as most of the people on this forum are) and realize where the untold hundreds of millions of dollars are coming from (thin air) and the rest of the stimulus package (thin air).

This has to be the epitome of irony for our current day!

When I read that first article, I cut/pasted to a friend over instant messenger. His response was to laugh. 15 minutes later, he informed me that his household recieved 3 mailers. (Himself, his parents, and his sister who doesn't even live there any longer)

If only there were some sort of way that we could get information to lots of people for free!
