I expect a sell off from people who think this is the threashold so if anyone is looking to get in wait a bit till the price goes down.

I don't see it.

It will require true fiscal conservatism, and I don't see it happening. There will be dips and such, but I don't pretend to predict those.

I doubt it will ever go back down below $800 ever again.

Though, in 2 years we might be talking about that $1000 gold and how we should have got in on that.

I remember when it was 300 an ounce.. I noticed my uncles and aunts buying large coin collections..

:( Only if I were curious enough to ask them why..

I remember when Pot and Gold were roughly the same price... $400 per ounce.

Man, if I could only take back all those doobies now and exchange them for gold coins

Liberty Dollar is about to start minting silver bullion stamped with $50. I've seen other reports which speculate that silver will be around $50 by the end of the year.

Now is a great time to get into silver!

ROFLMAO!!!

Usually that expression is figurative, but your post literally caused me to fall out of my chair, I was laughing so hard. Glad I'm by myself, although the cat appears a little frightened. :)

Silver seemed expensive at 14 bucks, now 14 bucks is cheap. The way things are in motion 20 dollar an oz ag will seem cheap in a year or 2.

Gold IMO may bounce around 1000 for a bit, like oil did at 100 then break out for higher highs if the situation doesnt improve immediately. Seeing GWB say the dollar is strong doesnt give any impression this situation is going to improve soon.

I talked to a guy a few minutes ago that said gold went over $1000 around 8 this morning but came back to around $992.00.

I bought my first silver in July of 2005 for $8.69 an ounce! It seemed high then because everyone was talking about how it had been $5 or $6.

The last I bought was on Feb 18, 2008, at $17.68 an ounce. Today, that even looks like a bargain!

Even though gold gets all the glory, silver has actually been climbing at a faster rate . . .

A bunch of secretaries in my department were talking about silver heading toward $21 and gold hitting $1000, and they weren't talking about jewelry. They were talking about how having PMs is better than money in the bank.

It's not TEOTWAWKI yet, but I was boggled at this.

how low can the dollar go.

the answer is zero.I took a trip to the near future and stopped at a taco bell, they had dollars in the napkin dispenser. I asked the guy why and he said it's cheaper than using real napkins.

Then when I stepped outside I saw black helicopters dropping dollar bills all over the place. The loud speaker sounded like it was saying "spend them, this is the president's stimulus package".

At that point I wished my time machine had reverse, like 1950's reverse.
