ATTENTION PENNSYLVANIANS and freedom lovers everywhere

PennDOT has been going forward with Real ID. $20 million has already been spent implementing 11 of 17 benchmarks. Pennsylvanians who have recently gone to get their licenses renewed have been issued temporary cards while extensive background checks are conducted.

Two bills are currently pending in the PA General Assembly to block Real ID in the state. We have been gaining ground for the last 6 months, but we are still short of the 2/3 majority needed to override a veto and assure Real ID's demise in PA.

TOMORROW (Thursday, March 13) The House Intergovernmental Affairs Committee plans public hearings on Real ID in PA. Restore The Republic, NVCCA, and our local meetup Ron Paul Revolution Pittsburgh Area Freedom Activists will be sponsoring an anti-Real ID rally and press conference at these hearings. WE THE PEOPLE must show up in huge numbers and make our opposition to Real ID clear.

For more information about Real ID, its status and PA, and this event, please watch this video that I have made:

Spread a link to this video to everyone you know. A win in PA only encourages other states to do the same.

whom do we call, do you know?

1. Find your legislators (house and senate) by plugging in your zip code here: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/

2. Find out if he/she are sponsors of HB 1351 & SB 1220.
House: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/BI/BH/2007/0/HB1351.HTM
Senate: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/BI/BH/2007/0/SB1220.HTM

3. Call their DISTRICT office and setting up an appointment with them. Meet and request their co-sponsorship on the proper bill. Get another dozen people in your district to do the same.

Do it Pennsylvania! Tell'em you're going to vote their tails out if they don't vote on the right bill! And then DO IT!

While there is this huge hype over running for US Congress, we need to also be concerned about our state legislatures.

Will be monitoring your progress - keep us updated.

i am leaving right from work and heading to the press conference.

I tried getting friends to go, but they picked just about THE worst time to have this thing.

Pitt is out for spring break, its on a weekday, and at 10am.

The crowd will be small is my guess :(, but that isnt stopping me from shoving my foot up pennDOts ass!

My house congressman is already backing the house bill, my senator is not tho.... sent him an email about it.
