First of all Hello!

I have been a Ron Paul fan since August of last year and I started looking for other ways to get information out there since the internet likes to reject things directly tied to Ron.

I bought http://recession.org last year and for the few months I have been working on it in my spare time adding articles and news that seem fitting.

It currently averages around 1,000 unique hits a day!

These visitors are not only from every state in the US but countries from all over the world !

I could use help in finding great articles online that will help people prepare for economic downturn (ebooks, selfhelp, ect ) as well as those who scour the web daily finding all sorts of news articles that would be beneficial in a format like this.

Recession.org is growing in traffic daily and I really feel this will be a great resource to help those who keep hearing these words but don't understand how serious they really are.

If you have any ideas or suggestions about the site please feel free to post them here.

You can contact me directly at:

Email: contact@recession.org

Articles about local or community currencies would be great! Local currencies have been credited during the depression as a buffer against starvation.

Thanks for the suggestion, I am researching more articles on this now!

Anyone else?

good looking site..my only suggestion is to add some easy to read graphs (on the home page? and replace one of the stock pictures). as to a key economic indicator showing that we are in a recession, how bad the recession is.

This will help illustrate to any doubters, or someone visiting the site not sure if we are in a recession how seriously they should take the recession idea, and the how much time they should spend on the site.

Thanks for the link/graph! that is a great idea I think that site has several nice graphs and some good information I can incorporate. I should make some great progress this evening with these resources.

It actually wasn't available but I felt the money I put into it could provide a fantastic service, spreading knowledge is my return on investment.

Instead of maxing my wife out for Ron I bought the domain.

The content management system is freeware and called Joomla and the design I did myself (thanks for the comments!)

Find sites that sell gold, lots of articles. Kitco has a good news section.

Nice. Reference other sites that compile similar articles. Europac.net jsmineset.com lifeaftertheoilcrash.net prudentbear.com

Basically, any bearish sites. Getting the name "recession.org" is awesome! As people Google the word, hopefully they'll get a better picture of what's really happening... versus listening to CNN paint it rosy.

Note: Google does NOT have you listed as a search result... may want to get on that ASAP!

Very nice site. Welcome to the boards, it's great to have a new person show up with something to offer that is looking for suggestions, rather than trying to make a buck off of us.

That said, it'd be interesting to have some links to information on strategies that worked/didn't work during the Great Depression.

You need to put dates on your news items.

Strategies for what?

I am working on a victory garden section now, if anyone finds any interesting articles out there feel free to email or PM me.

Strategies for continued prosperity, or survival at least (I'm assuming)

Site has been completely redesigned since I last posted in this thread, I lost all of my articles but haven't had time to start writing new ones yet. After almost a year the site is finally on the first page of google and has received nearly 250K hits this year!

If anyone has some good ideas or would like to help develop the site please contact me!
