I like that, but his campaign commercials look kind of cheezy, like they were originally meant to sell exercise equipment.

I think I found one of those campaign commercials:

I voted for him in '04.

BTW. Anyone out there who thinks it is out of the question for Ron Paul to be the Republican nominee should go back and review how Badnarik came to be the LP nominee in '04. Very exciting story. I am not ready to count this campaign out yet.

He has a radio show on We The People Radio Network at 7 am central.
He officially endorsed Ron Paul for President last year and went against his party.
He did catch some from his party for not supporting the Libertarian candidate but he understood the chance we had with Ron Paul running this election year.
He has an encyclopedia knowledge of the Constitution and can recite the Declaration of Independence from memory.

Is Michael Badnarik running in the 2008 election?

No, but someone equally smart will probably be the LP nominee.

Too bad he's LP? You'd think that people like you would think better of the LP, as they nominated Ron Paul once (who's still a member), Harry Browne twice, and Michael Badnarik.

My issue with the LP isn't so much who they nominate (though i've had some minor qualms in past) as it is with the way they conduct themselves as a party.

Being America's 3rd largest party is only cool for so many decades. One of these days, they'll realize that local government exists, that being intentionally fringe doesn't win voters, and that greater things are achieved by jumping up and taking action than by complaining about the actions of those who do.

I am very much the libertarian. I just feel that the LP has been and will continue to be a failure of a party.

Go Ron Paul!

The issues you address are valid. While I disagree with you about the LP being a failure of a party, we can both probably agree that right now, it is nothing more than a debate society.

The Ron Paul movement is just what the LP needed. Let's both wait and see if they do an effective job of grasping it (something they always fail at whenever they have the opportunity).

Agreed. I hope this gives the LP a shot in the arm, but I'm not optimistic.
