ATTENTION PENNSYLVANIANS and freedom lovers everywhere:

On March 13th, 2008, The House Intergovernmental Affairs Committee plans public hearings on Real ID in PA. AFTF, NVCCA, and our local meetup Ron Paul Revolution: Pittsburgh Area Freedom Activists will be sponsoring an anti-Real ID rally and press conference at these hearings. WE THE PEOPLE must show up in huge numbers and make our opposition to Real ID clear.

Please watch this brand new video I have made for more information about Real ID, its status in PA, and this event.

This from the Penndot website.

REAL_ID_Extension_FINAL.pdf (application/pdf Object)

Granted on Jan 11, 2008 an initial extension to complete a full analysis of the final Real ID regs...good through December 31, 2009.

Hopefully PA outright rejects Real ID permanently.

does anyone know if Senator Wonderling has sponsored SB 1220 yet?

I'm not sure, but it doesn't look like he was on board as of 1/14/08.

Subject: FW: Real ID UPdate -- Pennsylvania

I’m here at the state capitol with the National Veterans Committee on Constitutional Affairs (NVCCA), seeing what we can do to push for a hearing on either the Senate bill (S.B. 1220) or House bill (H.B. 1351) to reject Real ID for the state of P.A. Fully 10 private citizens showed up today to help, and it was fast-paced all day long on this first day back to work for the Assembly after their holiday break.

The Senate Bill is being held by the Communications and Technology Committee, which is headed up by Senator Robert Wonderling. As of yet, Wonderling is not co-sponsoring the bill, however six out of eleven of his committee members are

Aaron Bollinger of NVCCA says that if your legislator has not yet co-sponsored the bill:

"[call] their DISTRICT office, and setting up an appointment with them. Meet and request their co-sponsorship on the proper bill. Get another dozen people in district to do the same."

Great video! This is a must see for everybody!

This is my response to the Montana Governor (the bulk of which is applicable here too):

I am glad that you found this and shared it. This reminds me of Bush's temper when his bill for illegal wiretapping didn't pass last month. He was almost in tears, from anger and frustration! Good night! What is his problem? He kept saying 'don't the Americans want us to keep them safe?' This is what we have to do, they just don't realize how endangered they are and we need to protect them.

This REAL ID is the same thing. Reject this at all costs! We passed a resolution at our precinct level to reject this. Then, we successfully defended it at our Senate District Convention and plan to fight it all the way to the capitol.

If each of you do this in all states, then Congress will be forced to rescind this. The government says that states have the right to deny this bill but that will only be a temporary fix. You see, if you don't have the Federal ID, you can choose not to take it, lawfully (for now), but the consequences are still the same - you can't fly.

So, what if all the states refuse it and demand that Congress and the Senate rescind this ridiculous, illegal, unconstitutional bill? Then they have no choice but to listen to the people - that is after all, their job - TO LISTEN and act accordingly, not however they please!

Get active and stop this thing. Don't trust your politicians to make the right decision for you. They won't unless you badger them incessantly!

Calls are always better. E-Mails are easy to delete.

Yes, if possible call and schedule to meet with your local legislator in person about this. Much more effective.

I live on the other side of PA, so I can't make it on a weekday.

I emailed all my state reps., senators, and the Gov. Rendell, almost a week ago. No response yet. I'm gonna call later today. Is it easy to get ahold of them, or do you just talk to some office person?

Also, Sen. Dinniman's office is not to far from me. I'm gonna study up on this more so I can talk with him in person. There is no way to defend the reasons FOR the REAL-ID against a person that is well researched and against the law.
