Sorry for posting this in Ron Paul News, but I need an answer fast.

If anyone knows the piece of legislation, that would be great.

Yes, it was the Military Commissions Act. I was typing and not thinking when I asked the question. I meant to ask about POSSE COMITATUS. Anyone know when that was suspended and in what piece of legislation? The newscast here, said it was done away with last year. http://www.ksla.com/Global/story.asp?S=6937987 Note: video on left hand side of the page.

Warner Defense Spending Authorization of 2006, I believe. Allows the prez to declare emergencies for a variety of reasons and use the military domestically to restore/maintain order.

Ok, I'll check it out. I know that he took control of the National Guard in that legislation, but I wasn't aware that Posse Comitatus was wholesale thrown out.

The actual title is:

John Warner National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007

I read some of it a while back, doesn't seem to specifically say "no more posse comitatus", but the net effect of what it does authorize nullifies posse comitatus.
