A controversial political outsider shunned by his own party on the eve of national disaster. A prophet with loyal and dedicated supporters. These phrases ring true for more than one great man. But have enough people heard Paul's warnings to know who they should blame when the bottom falls out? Will they know that our meltdown was caused by the simple fact that Washington under both major parties created and spent too much money?

With all due respect, please do not compare Ron Paul with the oil-mongering Zionist Winston Jacobson Churchill.

That oil-mongering Zionist Winston Jacobson Churchill is the only reason you are free to post your ridiculous dribble without being having the Gestapo immediately barging through your front door to take you away to the nearest concentration camp.

Or perhaps his involvement in the Lusitania incident brought the US into the first world war, and made certain the chances for a second.

Churchill did some great things, but we have to start to understand even charismatic leaders who say great things are capable of evil.

Churchill's greatest contribution was his posthumous cameo appearance on Supertramp's "Fool's Overture."

Otherwise, since 1918, he zealously fought to commandeer any possible control of the oil industry.

Where have you been? Warrants are no longer required and the SS is free kick down any door they feel appropriate. Torture and indefinite detention anyone?

It's not that Washington created and spent too much money. It's that they were able to create and spend money in the first place. A money that cannot be inflated is the surest way to keep government in check.

And Churchill was most assuredly NOT akin to Ron Paul. Churchill was the Naval Secretary while the British Navy switched from coal to oil, insisted on intervening in Iraq in WW1 (yep!! See Lawrence of Arabia!)--taking possession of half of Iraq's oil--and insisted that the Shah of Iran be overthrown in 1953 because he had nationalized British Petroleum fields. (Yes, Churchill was exactly THAT guy who was the British govt's oil mongering man...sound familiar?). His actions in part LED to this whole anti-west mentality in the middle east. The war on terror is exactly an excuse to reinstate the gestapo and police state... for security of course. Thank him for giving us a reason to NOT keep the gestapo and police state at bay.

I appreciate your intention, but Churchill was no hero. He just played a hero's game as and when he could.

This is not worth fighting about.

Any misguided notion of history is worth correcting. Allowing an incorrect statement to stand unchallenged means allowing it to spread unchecked.

This is very interesting analytical thinking.
I hope there will be time when all American voters will rush to Ron Paul and beg him to be the President....
