How do you guys feel about Police Checkpoints?

http://www.wkrg.com/news/article/mpd_ready_for_checkpoints/11154/

I personally have a problem with it. I don't think I will encounter one but I still don't like the idea. Everyone is being treated like criminals. Guilty until proven innocent. Am I taking this to far?

Is that not a normal prosedure?
Police often does that kind of stuff in Denmak. Past few years they inform couple days before, when thay arrange actions like that.

An utter violation of Liberty as understood by the people.

I've been unfortunate enough to encounter plenty of them. It's never caused any real trouble for me, but I find them to be repulsive. That's not how citizens are supposed to treat each other. Police are supposed to be civilian citizens after all, and I wish they'd act like it.

NOW what makes U.S. (us) any different than Nazi Germany, Communist Soviet Union, or Red China?

Amazing what 50 years of political/government destruction to the American Constitution and Americans in general and putting "WELL POLISHED" government laws upon the SHEEPLE.

Americans (Sheeple) in general, are incredibly STUPID to allow or tolerate this Tyranny!

If you get stopped, pretend to be Mexican, and they'll HAVE to let you go.

That's a dilution:

Per CNBC reported layout...

Manufacturing Losses: 52,000

Construction Losses: 39,000

Retail Trade Losses: 34,000

Government Hires: 38,000

Health Care Hires: 36,000

MISC Hires: 21,000

US Labor Dept EXCLUDES all unemployed people that have expired UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE (UNEMPLOYED <== DUH!)

US Labor INCLUDE ALL government EMPLOYMENT/HIRINGS (LIABILITY to TAXPAYERS/BUDGET DEFICITS, ETC <== DUH!)

Here's the US Labor Dept REVISED

Oops, we made BIG MISTAKES COUNTING - FEDERAL GOVERNMENT LABOR/PR PROPAGANDA CRAP...

December 2007 LABOR STATS:

Originally: 82,000 NEW JOBS REVISED DOWNWARD to 41,000! HALF!!!

January 2008 LABOR STATS:

Originally: LOSS 17,000 Revised Downward to 21,000

4 straight MONTHS of DECLINES in EMPLOYMENT figures!

LOL no way I could pass for Mexican. Unfortunately a lot of people like the idea. They feel it saves lives because of drunks that will be caught. Of course the whole "if your doing nothing wrong you have nothing to hide" mentality. I have illegal tints on my windows so I need to make sure to avoid. Luckily my commute on any non interstate road in Mobile is very brief.

We stopped that crap in Indiana. One of the things we did before the congress decided to stop it was to take a few people with two way radios and post them before the check point. We held signs that stated "Gestopo CheckPoint Ahead" "Your Papers Please!" "Unconstitutional Seatbelt Checkpoint Ahead" "Violation of Your 4th and 5th Amendment Rights"

We would do this at a spot where a person had time to turn away. We had alot of support and many people honked to thank us. However many police oficers threatened us and even arrested one of us at one point and then released him 15 minutes later.

It is much worse. Have too many drinks in a bar and get arrested inside the bar. Maybe they will have checkpoints at the bathrooms.

Here is lew Rockwell.http://www.lewrockwell.com/bovard/bovard51.html

Right outside of Washington D.C. they are checking on people inside the bar and arresting them for being drunk. They don't even get a chance to drive.

They tried watching bars here and stopping people who had just left the bar, but after the owners of the bars started to complain about it, they had to stop.

Guilty until proven innocent. There is no other way to look at checkpoints.

Police checkpoints to me have always seemed like completely illegal searches. I'll be damned if I know how they are constitutional. The judges that have upheld them should be impeached and held up to extreme and widespread public ridicule.
