I have to write 2 or 3 paragraphs on these questions and wanted to preset them with something that sounds like Ron Paul so I can say he influenced my answers... the entire thing needs to be 2 or 3 paragraphs NOT 2 or 3 for each one, so it's pretty easy.

Please define socialism.
Please describe mercantile capitalism.
Please describe industrial capitalism.
Please describe state welfare capitalism.
Please describe financial capitalism.

I'd say your best bet is to use the definition from your class given resource material, then add a statement or two with your personal views.

IE - with socialism I would first give the text book definition, and then say something like.... "The biggest drawback with the system is that it does not take into account the notion of Individual Liberty. It perpetuates a "greater good" mentality and collectivizes people unjustly into groups that ultimately promotes people to simply maintain the "status quo". What incentives would there be for one to excel if everyone were truly equal in all ways? ....

Part of the fun of this for you will be the research into looking at it from a Ron Paul perspective. In terms of framework, like I said, I'd first state the definition as supplied by your given resources, and then add in your own take. This way you cover the bases of answering it the way your professor wants, and then saying "I disagree with this notion because...." etc.

Talking points could include: Austrian Economics point of view, Free Market, Milton Friedman on the Free Market (won the Nobel Prize in 1976 for his works), Von Mises, Individual Liberty, Group or Collective Mentality, etc. One thing Milton said that I love "If you put the government in charge of the Sahara Desert - in five years you would have a shortage of sand."

I'd almost find it hard to write something like this without doing it in a 5-10 page paper! :)

Good luck!
