Well it's taken over an hour to get past talking about the Iowa straw poll and Diebold controversey... maybe we'll get to some other topics now.

There are enough people on RonPaulForums, that worked the straw poll, who have stated based on crowd witnessed size, that the poll results make sense. I give them the edge in credibility, unless a smoking gun is found.

Hey guys... this is good now. A guy talking about what happened in Illinois.

MozoVote
08-16-2007, 08:38 PM
Ha ha! I feel like echoes of Jim Cramer are in the background. "I am so upset about this you have NO IDEA! NO IDEA!"

They need better moderating software for these things. Good grief. Use a web enabled conference and click on one or two names at a time to speak. It's almost like daytime talk TV or something.

I may drop off in a little while if this does not improve.

They're still shouting about diebold.

Dustancostine
08-16-2007, 08:39 PM
Yea and now they are attacking Kent Snyder. This has moved from a conference call about Ron Paul to a conference call about voting machines. The machines are crap but I will probably never participate in this call again. They have no desire to help the campaign. (Other than to get rid of the machines, but I see that as a higher order priority.)

This is really sad, it's turned into a vote in sunshine conference call instead of a Ron Paul conference call. It's going on 2 hours and the entire discussion has been about vote fraud. And I've heard attacks on the members of the official campaign :(

I'm not sure if you were on before he got to talk. But they almost skipped over him because they said they had to get the call moving forward. Only after Deedee got everyone to shut up was he allowed to speak and tell his great story. There are people that are hijacking this campaign for their own personal reasons.

Well, the TalkShoe FAQ says you can host a call with Skype, Yahoo or Vonage, or a land line or cell phone. Does not cost anything yet, although it might in the future.

Land line is probably the most foolproof, followed by voice-over-internet. I live in a small valley, my cell is kinda spotty so I would not want to try it that way.

Might I suggest using Paltalk for "meetings"?

Not only is it entirely online, but it's voice as well as video so people can see things that others are working on assuming they have a camera. The basics are free, but the Paltalk extreme subscription is about $60 per year (about 5 bucks per month).

It could work well for this I think. They already have a Politics category...

In fact...

I just created a room called "Ron Paul Grassroots" within the "Social Issues and Politics" --> "Government and Politics" category. The URL to the group is:

http://chat.paltalk.com/g2/group/1127127948/

You can also download the paltalk client from there. The free version just limits your video I think so just for chatting it is free. It's also nice because it can be set up to only let one person speak (have the microphone) at a time.

Any thoughts on using this?

To learn more about Paltalk check out:

http://www.paltalk.com/en/learnaboutpaltalk.shtml

Enjoy,

Yes they are trying to bring it to Texas. There is also a organization out of Austin "Texans for Fair Elections" or something like that. They are going to try and sue the GOP here.

RP needs to get away from these people. Or at least they need to distance themselves from RP if they truly want to get him elected. But I don't think this is the case unfortunately.

You missed the part where they were told to setup a different conference call to discuss the vote fraud. That this one was for Ron Paul meetups.

They've discussed this topic before on previous calls, all the moderators for the call are part of the Vote in Sunshine organization, I can't see them leaving the topic as they are more so wrapped around it then they are the Ron Paul campaign. In fact I heard the moderators and guest speaker directly attack and call for resignations of Jesse Benton, Kent Snyder and others that are volunteering to get Ron Paul's name out. They directly attacked the guy who was helping with the adopt an iowan thing by questioning his loyalty to the Ron Paul efforts. It was bad.

They will just continue to use the call as a bait and switch technique to recruit new Vote in Sunshine (or whatever they will call themselves next week) volunteers. I have no problem with their fighting vote fraud, its when anyone corrupts Ron Paul's name and shifts it to serve a special interest is what I have a problem with. Makes me sick.

From what it sounded like, they are just really desperate for volunteers for this vote fraud thing. It's sad to see they've gone down this road in order to recruit. The ends do not justify the means, it sounds like at the core they believe in what they are trying to do and sort of have good intentions. But you know what they say, the road to hell is paved with stones of good intentions.

Ditto

The people running the call are VIS people, why would they change? If they do let me know and I will rejoin. But they are hijacking the campaign for their special interest.

Yes, I heard that too, which is why someone spoke up in the call and put an end to it. I was just saying that the guy who usually leads most of these was pretty much falling all over himself after that apologizing and saying that yes, the Vote fraud people had misunderstood and that they needed to set up their OWN conference calls, because this one was for Meetup groups. There does however seem to be so very many other groups that are trying to piggyback their agendas off of this campaign. I have never seen anything like it.

Maybe we should start another call, that we know is just for Ron Paul and no other agenda. I would be all for it. It's going to be tough though to moderate, because if we suggest that a topic does not relate to the campaign and should be taken elsewhere, we are going to be accused of halting free speech and all other kinds of BS.

I think the problem originates with having guest speakers it sets an agenda for a call that can very easily burn up the first two hours of conversation. Seems to me a free flowing call where people get a chance to talk for a few minutes regarding an idea is a better approach.
