Yesterday over 30 of us Ron Paul Republicans, Goldwater conservatives, and libertarians descended on the NH State Capitol. We were mostly there to petition the legislature to ensure NH never gets any income tax, retains local (town) control of education, and a host of other things.

One of our number had written a short letter to the Governor, asking him not to ask for an extension for New Hampshire to comply with Real-ID -- because NH has already passed legally binding legislation (http://generalcourt.org/bills/2007/hb685) preventing our state from complying, ever.

Someone had a great idea: let's all 30 of us sign the letter, then head up to the Governor's office and hand it to him IN PERSON!

We did. He came out to talk to us for a few minutes. He confirmed that NH had not asked for an extension, and that no amount of Federal dollars will change that.

gawd if ONLY Pennsylvania would do the same god damn thing.

Friggin better not let that bullshit legislation pass here. We have a rally coming up next thurs to try and stop it here in pittsburgh.

Course its at Pitt, but they are on spring break AND its at 10am on a weekday, so i am not thinking the crowd will be as big as it outa.

I know the VA governor would NEVER agree to a videotaped, impromptu meeting w/freedom lovers. NEVER. This guy is awesome- standing up the way he did. I can't wait to get to NH!

He can say what he wants and vote against a national ID, but If and when we're faced with having to merge with Canada and Mexico, there probably won't be much that he (or anyone) can do to prevent a national ID from happening in NH.
