View Full Version : 7 Months of Mud

My fellow Ron Paul Republicans, remember... a LOT can happen in 7 months. Now that McCain is the media's "official" pick... all will ignore Paul. This means that the Dems will begin bashing McCain...

And as we all know, McCain has so many skeletons in his closet, just waiting to be exposed. I'm quite sure that the Dems will do what they can to bring the truth about him to light.

And all the while, the meek Dr. Paul, keeps on moving his pawns forward. If you don't see it, I'm sorry. I really am because that means you have lost hope. There really is hope. There really is a realistic chance of him winning the nomination.

As the next 7 months bring to light the most vicious mud-slinging America has seen in decades, we as a country will be simply fed up with the politicians, dismayed to have to plug our noses, cover our ears, and be blindfolded, just to vote for the lesser of two evils...

Until, a calm, collected, principled statesman suddenly takes the nomination and all are shocked. Nobody is watching the turtle, but we know how the story ends.

I asked 50 Democrats at least last night at my polling location who the voted for and why
and they ALL said 1 of 2 responses
clinton - cause i have a chance to elect a woman president
obama- because i have a chance for a black president

i replied to several with so your for mandatory health care?
or 70% income tax

not a single person even knew what thier positions where it made me litterally sick to my stomache.
also the turn out was easily 10 to 1
maybe 100 republicans and at least 1000 democrats
*****puke on the socialists***************

Assume for a minute the following happens,

McCain=toast.

Any thoughts? I know the third party run thinking. I am looking for what might then happen at the RNC convention.

I do wish, now that Dr. Paul has his Congress seat resolved he would come out with some clear input going forward.

There will be more than mud flying in the next seven months. There will be lawsuits and charges and serious questions about Panama John's Constitutional eligibility. It is advantageous for Dr. Paul to stay above the fray and continue to obey Reagan's dictum of not speaking ill of another Republican--seriously advantageous. Therefore, Sarge, I believe it's up to us. And I think we're up to it.

bump cause we need to stay positive... we have 7 months! And now that we don't have to worry about the MSM and getting people to vote in the primaries, we can focus on the efforts that will really count... DELEGATES!!!

Remember that it's all about chess and turtles...

We just have to make every move with the utmost caution and not waste a single one, we need things to go nearly perfect from now until the final delegate is selected for the nomination to happen.

I think the Panama thing is a dead horse, and will get no traction. The real Achilles heal for McInsane, is his own McCain/Feingold law. That is what is going to cripple him. If things play out as they should, one of two things happen...

1) John has no money to campaign for the next 7 months, and gets slaughtered at the convention by RP bots.

2) John disobeys his own law, is charged and goes to prison, leaving only RP left on the ticket, and wins nomination by default.

Either way, works for me. :)

Disclaimer: I have done a TON, financially and otherwise for RP, and I still am: On Saturday at 8AM I am attending our county convention (Douglas County, NV) with many family members and friends who are also delegates and alternates. And we plan on going to state and then being one of 34 and go to St. Paul. So I am not giving up on restoring the GOP. But like the founders, I think we need to get away from parties--that's more important. And I am a real supporter, because I would give thousands more and do tons more if he declared indy.

You still think something can happen at the convention? Here... The important part of this is: 1. 80% of delegates come from Primary states, 2. more than 80% of those delegates will be pledged, 3. those states are almost all winner-take-all, 4. McCain gets to research and approve (choose basically) all those delegates, 5. Ron Paul only got 5% average in all those primaries, and did not win any of them outright.

The most important part is: 86%-95% of the voters and delegates voted for a pro-war, non-Paul candidate. Even if we won half of Romney's people and half of Huckabee's people (extremely, ridiculously, stupidly unlikely) we would still only have like 30% of the delegates. And 80% of Republicans pro-war (thus very anti-Paul), so they would never vote for Ron Paul--even if McCain died, and Romney and Huckabee--it doesn't matter--they would choose many other people before they would ever choose Ron Paul.
