lol, there goes the possibility of third party run from Dr. Paul. Only if had he lost it would be viable for him to pursue a third party run.

They were taken down and put back up, which seems to indicate they arent the real numbers. Its possible they just suck at webpages though.

Yes, remember that Victoria and Brazoria counties, especially Victoria, are the heavily populated pro-Paul districts.

These are all early votes. Would early voting favor Paul or Peden...or is it a wash?

I'd guess Paul, as we Paulites like to get out and vote early, (we just can't hold our enthusiasim).

Of course this is just me on the other side of the country, so what do I know.

how many percent reporting before they project Paul the winner? 99%? LOL
with a margin like this they'd already have that checkmark next to McCain with .01% reporting.

RonPaulFanInGA

As expected, Brazoria is overwhelmingly for Paul. Victoria and Brazoria alone could probably win this for Ron Paul.

Incumbents historically win about 96% of the time in general elections...I don't know about primaries, but I imagine they can't be that far off. This race was never really in question.

Looking good, but lets keep an eye on this:

Precincts reported: 3
Total precincts: 269

Not over by a long shot. Normally the numbers hold up though from what we've seen in other states.

That cant be right. No way is there 15,000 + votes coming in from 3 precincts. If you extrapolate linearly that would mean about 1,350,000 are voting in the 14th district texas republican primary

UPDATE 8:36: Ron Paul has been re-elected to Congress in the Fourteenth District of Texas.

Campaign manager Mark Elam: "Chris Peden is toast. It's just a question of how big the margin is."

You're right, I stand corrected - I just noticed alot of the counties are showing 0 precincts reporting, but thousands of votes. Plus link above alreadly calling it for Paul!

I think that is early/absentee voting.
Nonetheless, it looks like RP will win :)

For those that have known of Dr. Paul for a while you have to realize that the GOP ALWAYS runs someone against Dr. Paul in the primary. I'd like to see a stat on how many seats held by a GOP congressman for 10 years have a primary contender?
