Hello Freedomphiles! Not a huge news day today. Top-diamond libertarian Creator writes (http://www.nolanchart.com/article3001.html) on The Nolan Chart about freedom, Ron Paul, and "tax terrorism:"
Why do YOU file and pay income taxes? Is it really just your cheerful "voluntary compliance" -- a term the IRS loves to untruthfully bandy about? Or are you simply afraid - afraid that the IRS will apply the overwhelming force of its considerable resources to punish you if you fail to "volunteer?" ..Professing themselves to be "tough on terrorism," all but one presidential candidate has ignored this singular form of domestic terrorism that strikes fear into the heart of every American every year.
As a presidential candidate, Dr. Paul has done us all the great service of bringing the issue of the income tax into the realm of public awareness and debate. While Hillary and Obama have never met a tax they didn't like, Dr. Paul's remaining Republican opponents give feeble lip service to tax reduction, going as far (in the case of Mike Huckabee) as mouthing the words "eliminate the IRS." Huckabee is of course speaking of the so-called "Fair Tax," another disaster if there ever was one. Ron Paul, on the other hand, has spoken boldly of eliminating the income tax and replacing it with nothing.
Ron Paul clearly understands that the very idea of an "income tax" is not at all compatible with liberty in a free society. It is, in fact, one of the ten planks of the Communist Manifesto. How can we be said to be free when on a regular basis government authorities hold a gun to our head and extract a substantial portion of the fruit of our labor?
Dr. Paul has been fighting "Tax Terrorism" on various fronts for his entire career. He has never voted for a tax increase of any kind. Short of eliminating the IRS, an impossible dream for a "lone congressman," he has nevertheless sponsored many bills to reduce taxes in specific ways. Ron Paul has consistently voted against government expansion. He clearly sees the underlying source of runaway taxation, namely an imperial government with an endless book of blank checks, written without any representation, drawn against the future earnings of all Americans and their children. As president, he would greatly expand this "war on terror" by bringing the troops home from all around the world, paving the way towards elimination of the hated income tax and the despised IRS.
Ohio University quashes free speech twice - with a free speech zone and enforcement of speech codes. And they admit it (http://www.thepost.ohiou.edu/Articles/News/2008/03/04/23231/):

Both men were part of groups that disbanded after OUPD responded to a complaint of an alleged racial slur being uttered. Once on the scene the officers also explained OU's free speech zone policy, which was being violated.

Why does Alan Greenspan want the oil rich Gulf Arab states to de-peg the US dollar right now?
Why now? Why not wait until after the 2008 Presidential Elections? Could it be because the "powers that be" want to crash the US economy so that Bush can continue a dictator style reign?
Are you aware that last year he signed the National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive which states that if there should be a "catastrophic event" he will essentially become "a dictator" over the Federal Government?
That's not to say that she doesn't have a point about the directive, but I'd bet a million dollars that nothing like what she describes happens.

How refreshing! And now, finally, a real DUAL choice in American politics. Of course, Nader differs with Dr. Paul by supporting big government programs to solve America's social and political challenges, now made all the worse by Cheney-Bush, the GOP, and the do-nothing to go-along Democratic Party. Dr. Paul would offer that American government is already too big. But both Paul and Nader are on the money pointing out the wasteful spending on "defense" due to the Cheney-Bush lie of preemptive defense, which is both offensive and constitutes an unnecessary and illegal invasion of a country that did US no harm. And Nader pointed out the problems with American labor created by our government, mentioning in particular the labor-crushing burden of Taft-Hartley in terms of its restrictions on labor organization.
Nader didn't precisely follow Paul's lead on the Federal Reserve, but pointed out how the wasteful defense budget is causing deficits and is devaluating our money and thereby destroying savings and retirees' pension protections. Nader made it clear that he "came to Washington 40 years ago" to help America and Americans, and he's going to take another shot at it. "In that context I have decided to run for president," he said.
Ian Brockwell writes (http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/54031) on American Chronicle that the rEVOLution needs to be about more than Ron Paul and marches on Washington:
We have to remember that we (the people) are up against a very professional enemy, an enemy that has incredible financial resources, and the power to bend the rules any direction they wish. But the only reason they gained their wealth and power, was because we allowed them to. However, with the right determination, we can take it away as well.
Many millions of people do not fully understand the power they hold in their hands, and assume that "change" is beyond their reach. They see the enemy as invincible and too powerful to bring down. How wrong you are!
Thankfully, Ron Paul has lit the flame, and for the first time many are starting to believe. It would of course be perfect if Ron Paul was to become President, but even if this doesn´t happen, the battle is not over. What Paul started, the rest can finish!
I agree that a march on the GOP Convention would be more effective (than one on Washington D.C.), and it should obtain media coverage, but more is needed.

And so we wait, those of us who see our economy crashing, our nation's integrity sacrificed on the neocon alter of their mighty power/oil/elite gods. And we wait. And we watch the grinding to a finish of political campaigns accompanied by the blithers of ad nauseum repeated jingos, the tired shallow promises, the slick phrases .
And we try to believe tomorrow will be the day, next week, sometime before it is too late, when the our country, our brethren, spill into the streets, and use civil disobedience and good old fashioned stubbornness to say to all the so-called frontrunners, the anointed ones, McCain, Obama, Clinton: "Hell, no, we won't GO into this disastrous future of hundred year wars, illegal invasions, no border security, Big Brother growing like a cancerous evil and the slicing and dicing of our constitution to suit you.."
But waiting for the majority to wake up, to "get it", to care enough to get off their broadening backsides to actually take action ... waiting for a miracle to bring Ron Paul somehow into the highest office in the land... waiting for the idea of the new Revolution to take hold quickly and organically enough before we are, as a nation, bankrupt beyond help... waiting for SOMEONE, some how, some way to create a tsunami of change is wrong-headed and downright dangerous .
It is time now, we may not have time tomorrow or next week, for those of us with the intellectual capacity and the intestinal fortitude to speak up and out. Forget the waiting.
Finishing off on a lighter note, why not go and vote (http://www.missronpaul.com/) for Miss Ron Paul? They are all beautiful, but Vanessa (at right) is my favorite.
