We didn't touch the World Cup War of 1969 with a ten foot pole. Of course, neither of those combatants had Venezuela's oil reserves...

And they have been itching to oust Chavez for awhile so expect US intervention and another puppet government.

The U.S. would almost certainly come to Colombia's aid if oil-rich Venezuela launched an invasion. But Washington-based diplomats played down the brouhaha and said it might be no more than bluster from Chavez, an outspoken opponent of the U.S.

Come to Colombia’s aid if THEY enter Venezuela’s borders militarily? Of course, we’re the US. AVARICE.
