Dear Mr. Frank:

Thank you for expressing your concerns about H.R.1955 and S.1959, the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act.

These bills would amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 by adding provisions that attempt to combat terrorism by those born, raised, or based and operating primarily in the United States.

While I will continue to support measures that protect our nation from terrorism, I remain concerned about the possibility that H.R.1955 and S.1959 could violate the constitutional rights, civil rights, and civil liberties of American citizens or lawful permanent residents.

Should either H.R.1955 or S.1959 reach the Senate floor, I will keep your views in mind. Thank you again for contacting me.
