MSNBC: McCain Would Consider Debate with Huckabee

Posted February 27th, 2008 by manystrom

And what about Ron Paul?

From NBC/NJ's Adam Aigner-Treworgy and Matthew Berger (http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/02/26/703116.aspx)

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- After Huckabee earlier said he'd like to debate McCain again (http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/02/26/702331.aspx), McCain said the Huckabee campaign has never contacted his staff for a debate. But he left the door open for a face-to-face meeting.

"I did not know that he had sought to do that," McCain said in Cincinnati. "In fact, we've had 16 debates since this campaign began, and I've been engaged in every one of them. So, I would certainly consider that proposal."

Huckabee campaign national chairman Chip Saltsman said here that the campaign had not officially sent a letter or contacted the McCain campaign seeking a debate, but reiterated Huckabee's words that the campaign had "made it very clear" they wanted a forum. He also said there had been plans for a debate but the television network scheduled to air it backed out.

Is anyone here good at making youtube videos?

The first reply in the comments section has a good diea. It would show us once again that McInsane is full of shit. Or maybe he IS suffering from pre-Alzheimer’s (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=124682)

McCain is a liar

On February 27th, 2008 Joe Knows says:

"In fact, we've had 16 debates since this campaign began, and I've been engaged in every one of them."

Someone should do a you tube showing McCain saying this. Then cut to the Tavis Smiley debate. McCain was a no show. Then cut to the MTV debate. McCain was a no show. Then cut to the my space debate. McCain was a no show. Then cut to the Value Voters debate. McCain was a no show.

Is this the type of President we want. I guess it depends on the meaning of the word debate.

There have been no debates. A debate allows everyone the same amount of time to speak.

HQ needs to challenge McCain to go at Paul in a debate also very hard. They need to call him a noshowing coward that picks and chooses. They need to press this hard. Paul needs to challenge him publicly now!

Although the Madman is the "frontrunner," he does NOT have the nomination in a stranglehold, therefore, he does not have the right to call these shots!

If this isn't played, I don't know what is. First you have Huck begging everyone to debate, then McCain decides he could debate Huck. It's sickening how in the end, Huck's was the loudest squeek, but the people were ignored. How could you vote for that? http://www.elite-otaku.net/wordpress/wp-images/smilies/icon_fucku.gif

as said before. Ron Paul needs to challenge McCain publicly right now to a debate. he needs to get on every talkshow there is and persue this right now. he needs to make a huge stink about it all.

And when McCain inevitably turns him down, we really can't say much, considering the fact that Paul seems unwilling to debate Peden in his district.
