If I don't see improvement in this country within the next 2-3 elections... I am officially moving to Switzerland.

After Ron Paul mentioned Switzerland in the google interview, I did some research.

Seems like a great place to be.

Switzerland also has mandatory military service straight out of high school.
That +alps makes them invinsible but I still do not agree with that.

Also, its very expensive to live there. Few people own houses.

Businesses are required to give 1 month vacation a year - I assume this has a lot to do with the prices.

I met a very awesome swiss couple on my honeymoon in Costa Rica...so that makes me some kind of authority! :p

I went to Switzerland last year for summer vacation, that place is BEAUTIFUL!

People are nice, environment is clean and it's just a nice place to be, especially Geneva. Their public transportation is based on an honor system so you really dont have to pay for it if you don't want to, yea true things are expensive there but I figure you make enough to pay for things that you need in the Swiss.

There is also an interesting rule about being quiet in Geneva, you can't flush your toilet after 10pm for the sake of disturbing your neighbors while they try to sleep, and Sunday is a shut the eff up day or something...love that place. :D

I agree with sentient void, if by the next couple of elections after 08, America does not want to change, I want to change for the sake of my future and family, I'm going to Switzerland.

I spent a weekend in Zurich about 6-7 years ago. Very beautiful country, but kind of expensive even back then. People were pretty cool for the most part, except for a few local though older guys in a bar who didn't like out government. They scarred the hell out of my friend who left the place because he thought they were gonna kick our asses because we were Americans. He just got up and walked out. I stayed like a man and talked for a little while more and left like a gentleman. :)

Switzerland isn't as great as your claim. For example, in terms of your claim of 'no gun control', it's far from it. In some ways, the laws are even more restrictive than many places in the US. Major cities like Geneva for example are pretty much a no concealed carry zone. And in terms of taxation, I'm not sure where you get that figure. It's much higher when you factor in the federal, canton, and various socialist extraction, such as their version of social security. Then there's the craziness that they're one of the few places that actually tax WEALTH as well as income. You read that right, you owe tax simply for having money, never mind income. It's low, like 1%, with level cutoffs, but it's still something you'll rarely find elsewhere.

I wish they were an English speaking country, I'm too lazy to learn another language.

Price of goods wouldn't bother me too much, because outside of food, I don't buy that much stuff. As long as I'm well fed and have my internet connection, I'm content.

I spent 3 months in Switzerland a few years ago.

Overall taxes are much higher than many of you think and it is a very expensive country.

Besides that it is a very beautiful place, it is clean and safe, and their bread, chocolate, and cheese is the best.

Luxembourg would be a better spot.

What about New Zealand...
It sounds awesome, not sure of the politics of the place, but from the outset, it feels like it could be the sanctuary from war, and power that is the US.

I was born here and I will die here. Short of some seriously ridiculous shit hitting the fan I will be staying in the US for better or worse.

I would never think of moving to Switzerland....they are under the Vatican's control and that is where the Rothschild's banking money started the untraceable "Swiss Bank Accounts". That land is tainted...ever wonder why they made underground bunkers...their leadership is NWO under the radar! Watch Out!
