This is why I would recommend you all check out http://www.torproject.org/.

It makes you anonymous on the web & even encrypts the communication to the Tor server, so not even your ISP knows what you're doing.

I installed it on my main computer (laptop, running openSuSE Linux 10.3) a few days ago, works perfectly with Firefox.

Tor's good until the end points get sniffed. There was the snafu last year of various diplomatic email account logins being discovered because they used tor for security.

So by all means encrypt every piece of email - everyone should be using PGP - and use Tor when you can since it makes things more difficult to trace. Just wanted to warn that it may not completely hide your trail.
