In the public mind, we should link the name of Ron Paul with the abolition of the IRS. If we can turn this election into a national referndum on the IRS, we can win.
If we also turn it into a referndum on the war, our odds are even better. It's a perfect 1-2 punch because our foreign wars are as big part of why we even have an income tax.
It's simple and it's emotional. Much better than vague disertations about "liberty", "the constitution", "The Fed" and "peace." We know what those issues mean....but boobus America doesnt understand or care. Tell em they're gonna get a big fat boost in their weekly paycheck, and watch them come off of their sofas.
I hope HQ understands that this theme is the key to winning.
As for those folks who say "How would we pay for government?"..Tell them this:
"income tax only accounts for 35% of revenue. If you reduce government spending by 35%, you'd still be at 2001 spending levels! We can do that by bringing troops home and getting rid of waste in government."
