The US and Canada are now working to agree to allow and share each others militarys for domestic emergencies and terrorist attacks. This includes civil dissent such as riots or other incidents deemed to necessitate use of each others troops. Can you imagine Canadian soldiers on the steets of an American city? I'm sure the Canadians are not to happy with the idea of US soldiers in thier cities either. Is this the first step toward a NAU military? By the way, this never made it before congress to vote!

I think there was also talk of an operation in Mexico similar to Plan Colombia for our troops to go in Mexico to fight the drug trade as we do in Colombia.

WTF! Are you telling me we are so weak that we need Mexico and/or Canada to roll their military into the U.S. in the event of a terroist situation!?! So we are up to the task of speading democracy to the middle east, keeping troops stationed in South Korea, Peru, Germany, Portugul, etc, but we are not prepared to defend our nation and we need Mexico's help! Whose ass do I need to kick!

We work very closely with the Canadians especially. At McChord AFB where I am stationed I have helped train them and the Aussies on the C-17. Our Militaries have very close relations with each other so it does not surprise me. I don't think you have to worry so much about Canadians being deployed to American cities, we got more than enough people to fill pretty much any contingency.

I can understand fighting alongside Canada in Iraq, or for the continent's mutual defense against ICBMs, but IN AMERICA? Used to enforce OUR laws? Used to put down CIVIL dissent?

Well, it may not be China, but it's disturbing nonetheless.

Yep, thanks for the link.
Here's a "prosperity" part. A HUGE land-grab starting in Texas:
