How grassroots can make Ron Paul supporters out of anti-Bush Obama supporters

Obama=Reelect Bush for 3rd term (convert Obamists with this):

Obama is running on Bush’s 2000 rhetoric (Bush described himself as an agent of change, a Washington outsider, a reformer, a compassionate moderate, a bipartisan, a uniter, a peacemaker, who would reach across the aisle, increase health coverage, make taxes fairer, restore a humble foreign policy, end military overstretch, and end the politics of fear).

Who is the lesser of two evils? Obama or McCain?
Who is preventing Dr Paul from getting the Republican nomination?

I would focus more on converting McCain supporters.

I believe McCain, Obama and Clinton all offer 8 more years of Bush.

Huckabee offers immediate facist theocracy.

As Ron Paul has said himself, Bush campaigned nearly on Ron Paul's platform. I don't think this is useful... Seriously, Obama people could use this same logic for Ron Paul supporters...

yeah always thought when Dr. Paul would mention that he was running on GB 2000 platform.... was a bad idea. The mere mention of bush is poison when trying to convince a democrat.

Step #1 is to refute Obama's specialness and expose him as part of the machine that he is (use his corruption rating too).

I changed "platform" to "rhetoric" because the point is more about false promises and hollow words (never mind Deval Patrick, Obama is recycling Bush rhetoric).

On the issues, the point is that Obama and Bush are more interchangeable to a Neocon. A Neocon does not have to change ideology as much to vote Obama.

Paul can win a non-Neocon soft Obamist more easily than he can convert a Neocon McCainiac.

It depends on your audience. It also depends on distinguishing promises from deeds.

For Republicans, highlight the areas of agreement with classic Republican principles. Hold Bush to his conservative rhetoric. Ron Paul simply wants to complete Bush's stated goals and finish the job:

Bush said no nation-building.
Bush said Iraq would be quick.
Bush said "Mission accomplished" in 2003.
Bush said our objective is to withdraw ASAP.

Don't Republicans believe in keeping their word?

Ron Paul can fulfill Bush's promises better than Bush.

Ron Paul will finish the job that no one else will.

Finish the job scam: http://hawks4ronpaul.blogspot.com/2008/01/finish-job-scam.html

Obama is my second choice.

Your post history shows that Obama is your hobby here but please do not personally attack fellow forum members.

So Huckabee offers something like 16 more years of bush in the time frame of only 8 years? :p

Unfortunately you forgot one thing:

Bush=Republican
Obama=Democrat

That's where most people's political thought process stops. At least this is my experience when talking with Democrats. They hate the "R" word sooo much. So when converting people, don't mention RP is Republican until the very last and they're minds are already changed.

You are better off pointing out to Obama supporters that he Voted for the Patriot Act and if that doesn't work, then point them to this article over at CounterPunch, a well respected Lefty Mag:

You forgot:

Bush was once a part owner of the Texas Rangers.

Barack Obama is a Chicago White Sox fan.

DUH DUH DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Seriously though, you need much better logic to convince any clear-thinking individual that Obama is the next George Bush because they both campaigned on "change" or are "blood relatives."

I think you are better off simply pointing out where Ron Paul has superior answers to Barack Obama (or anybody else) than trying to fear monger and try to convince people that they are voting for another George Bush. Unless it's McCain in which case it's true, but the person would probably be okay with that, which means you need to go back to showing how Ron Paul is good, not how other people are bad.

Do you see the difference?

The information is not for clear-thinking individuals. It is for the average Obama voter.

Okay then make sure to mention that one was part owner of a baseball team and the other roots for a baseball team, because that makes about as much sense as them being "related."

Also, they both breathe oxygen.

Exactly, like "Jeb counted the Florida votes," "Bush Clinton dynasty," "Ron Paul is another Texas Republican," "Ron Paul is in a picture with someone," "he's Mormon," "she's a woman," "he's African-American," or "Bill Clinton is the first black president" (as Toni Morrison claimed).

I have several theories backing up this idea. Here's one

Bush likes Pretzels (so much he choked on one)

Coincidently, Obama likes pretzels too! Therefore:

Bush = Obama

We would need a source because we can use only verifiable coincidences.

Sorry if this is has been spoken about. But from: http://blogs.cfr.org/campaign2008/

"Obama has said he would renegotiate NAFTA to include enforceable labor and environmental standards."

I still find "enforceable labor" very interesting among other tid bits in that piece.

It's enforceable labor standards, not enforceable labor. Or do you really think Barack Obama is calling for slavery!??!
