How would you go about to get Congressman Paul to introduce new legislation that would point a spotlight at this garbage. I'd love to see him introduce something like:

"The Layman's Terms Earmarks List Act 2008."

Every earmark that is squirreled away in any bill has to be listed in an index from the most expensive to least. Besides the amount, it should list the senator or congressman/woman that introduced it and a paragraph in layman's terms explaining what the money is being spent on. It should also note if the recipient wanted this and if it has passed any inspections. It should also list if the Senator or Congressman/woman received donations from that company. And the type could not be smaller that 12 point type. For example:

Earmark 786: $11,500,000
Senator Patty Murray (D-WA)

Earmark to purchase 1600 Nomad Helmets for the U.S. Army. Microvision Corporation's "Nomad," a helmet with a mounted computer display, meant to flash maps and relevant data to a soldier in combat. The U.S. Army currently has 900 Nomad Helmets in storage from a 2005 earmark. The Nomad failed to pass Army staged evalutations (distracting to wear & had a blind spot when worn.) The U.S. Army did not request more Nomad Helmets.

$55,250 - Donations from Microvision to Senator Murray's campaign.
