While in the car this morning, I heard a report on NPR in which they interviewed someone with some sort of American Conservative coalition of some kind. He stated that McCain rates low, 65% conservative which in thier book, makes him not conservative at all. I looked on NPRs website for more, but can't seem to find anything. Anyone else hear this? There were a lot of interesting points made in the interview.

"We don't consider him conservative," Keene says. "His ratings don't reflect that he's conservative."

"There are a lot of people out there who are not yet comfortable with John McCain as their party's standard-bearer."

It's not simply his positions A, B and C," Keene says. "It's a sense that conservatives have gotten over the years that he doesn't like them.... And that's created a queasy feeling about him that they haven't overcome. He can overcome that. He's got to convince conservatives during the course of the next few months. That they're involved in a common enterprise.
