Hi, I am writing a canvassing letter
I know there is a place for this on the forums but no one ever posts there.
I am going to attach home made slim Jims to this outlining some issues.
I need advice on some ideas I should focus on for the slim Jim and adviceon this letter

Neighbor,

My name is Erin, I live on Southview Dr., I am 23 years old and am deeply concerned about my future. Growing up I was taught the importance of freedom, individual liberties the constitution. I am getting scared now because for all of my adult I see an increasing amount of apathy towards the role of government. This is leading us down a dark and dangerous path of government intrusion into our lives turning into a socialistic nightmare that no one will have the freedom to resist when it takes full hold.

Right now we are asked to give up our freedoms and sovereignty for the sake of democracy. If we continue to allow this trend to go on the terrorists have won. This is exactly what we are told they wanted.

"He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither." - Benjamin Franklin

And I agree with Ben. If we do not fight for our freedoms, our basic God given rights as individuals than we do not deserve the ground we walk on.

Here are a few things you should be thinking when choosing your elected officials this year:

Why will you not secure our borders?
Why are we $9 trillion in debt?
Why is our debt growing $150 billion dollars a day?
Why do we have to work 6 months a year to pay our taxes?
Why are you allowing health care lobbyists to drive up costs then saying we should trust you to manage the system?
Why are you looting our seniors Social Security?
Why are you creating legislation that sends our jobs overseas?
Why have we not found Bin Laden?

Why is Ron Paul the only one asking these questions?! … Who exactly is Ron Paul?

"Truth is treason in the empire of lies." -- Ron Paul

He is laughed at and ignored mostly by the media. For anyone who actually has taken time to learn his platforms he is praised. His supporters are Republicans, Democrats and Independents and we are starting a huge revolution through the internet that no media outlet will cover honestly. Hence why volunteers, like myself, are reaching out to you.

He is a ten term congressman from Texas running for the republican presidential nomination in the spirit of small government, humble foreign policy, and restoring the constitution.
He is the only reason I feel proud to call myself an American again because he is the only one in a long time that is promoting American principles. He is the only reason my husband is even voting. Please review the next page for more information of this amazing man.
Thank you!
Erin

I like your letter. I'd hesitate to give an exact address, though. Or maybe your area is a bit safer. :)

Wow no criticisms. yay me! Last one I tried to do wasn't as well received by the forum.

And thanks for looking out for my safety. My neighborhood is very safe though. To be honest I didn't even think about that, I must be lucky!

Now I am going to put together a slim Jim/leaflets or something to have ready to mail out tomorrow.

By the way I am in Ohio, we havn't voted yet

Let's hear it for safe neighborhoods!

I got one of the $15 ink stamps with my name, address, and telephone number and stamped all the slim jims I passed out in my precinct. Never thought not to here in semi-rural North Mississippi

Of course I haven't gotten any feedback :(

But there are 1,000 people or so who have at least gotten exposed to Ron Paul because of them.
