I was dragged along to a sportsman show today. First thing I noticed was a table full of computer monitors. A guy at the entrance was handing out one-time-use credit card-like cards with an electronic strip on them. I paid my entrance fee in cash, went in and looked at these computers. I swiped the card that was given to me at random and it asked for my full name and phone number. I declined but there were also other questions like your age, your DOB, your monthly income, your job, and probably more. I quickly exited out of that page and my card was thrown away before I could get back onto the computer to see what else was there.

This really surprised me, or maybe, not so much. The contest was for a trip to Hawaii and yet they need all this information so they can pick me at random? Pfft.

Be careful guys. They seem to want our information more and more these days, and we're just handing it over willingly.
