More Than 1,300 Paul Supporters RSVP Online For Rally...

More than 1,300 people say they plan to attend a rally in Austin Saturday for Republican candidate Ron Paul.

Paul's supporters have confirmed they will be at the event through Facebook.com and Meetup.com, but those who want to go are not required to make a reservation.

The free event kicks off at 2 p.m. on the Main Mall of the University of Texas, and will feature performances by Jimmie Vaughan and others. Paul is scheduled to speak at 5 p.m.

KXAN Austin News' Jenny Hoff will also interview the Texas congressman on Austin News Today on Sunday from 9 to 10 a.m.

Get more information about Saturday's Ron Paul on the Main Mall.

I go to UT, the Main Mall is the area in front of the tower... it's not a building at all.

I finally was able to cast my vote for Ron Paul today in early voting for the Texas primary!
But after driving around downtown I drive into the Obama rally that was setting up at the Capitol. I didn't know he was going to have a rally in Austin on Friday night, he pulled over 20,000 people. We have to pull at least 5,000 tomorrow and we can hopefully.

Hey, congrats on the vote!

Yes, hope RP gets a big crowd that shows he still has mass love from his supporters (well, not that the MSM will show it right) but still....

I live in Austin, and am wondering why there wasn't any advertising for this event at
the UT today. I saw nothing in the newspapers or on television at all? I knew about it
a long time ago, but some people probably don't know a thing about it because of the
media blackout.

My husband and I are going. I told 3 RP supporters about it yesterday that had not heard of it. They will probably attend.

This event was organized by "Students for Ron Paul at UT", they didn't advertise much looks like. There are Obama posters all around UT and downtown because of his rally at the Capitol last night. With Jimmy Vaughn throwing down there in a few hours and with people massing, hopefully it will attract people that are curious that didn't hear about it.
