I wonder if this crashes and is carrying hazerdous or nuclear material - will it constitute a national emergency?

U.S. issues notice on downing of satellite
http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/space/02/18/satellite.intercept/index.html

FEMA reports indicated that the satellite contains the hazardous materials hydrazine, and beryllium, though there was also some speculation that the satellite might have a "nuclear" power core, i.e. a radioisotope thermoelectric generator. The FEMA report indicates otherwise.

Future news flash:

In order to protect us from a falling satellite, the US Navy targeted
the tumbling spy craft, fired and missed. Unfortunately, this has
resulted in the complete destruction of a small island just off of
Iran.

It appears that the recently opened Oil bourse on Kish Island
is no longer on the map. ...and that pesky satellite may still
require another shot or two within the next few days, unless
the USD can remain the world's oil exchange currency.

In an emergency overnight session, Congress has approved
an additional 3 trillion dollars of defense funding for upgrades
to the Navy's aging "Whack-a-Mole" guidance system since it
failed to score an accurate hit on the orbiting spy craft threat.

To me the most amusing bit of this whole incident is we discovered that our anti missile shield doesn't work when there are rough seas in the pacific.
Sure hope N Korea doesn't watch CNN, lol
