AJ wouldn't get involved with a MoveOn.org event anyway.....but I know we got peeps in Austin......I dunno though that could PR wise backfire on us.....but then again BFD, not like we're getting any real attention anymore anyway, they realized attacking him don't work so they just went back to ignoring him/us/the message.

it could be done more subtle, pretend we're a big obama fan then have a friend who just wants to talk about ron paul the entire time to everyone. with a mic. and some videos he just happened to bring with him.

This really appeals to the practical joker side of me. Set up a location and pass it to MoveOn, then the last hour before the event, sweep through and completely decorate it in a Ron Paul theme, after they've checked it but before the event starts.

Lots of signs, slim-jims, DVDs, booklets in stacks, YouTubes being projected on the wall... :D

Dudes this would be the perfect set up for a prank.

Host it at the landfill! Or somewhere out in the boonies!!

Hell yeah!! Then just talk about change and hope (make sure you plagiarize some speech). Have one supporter faint every 10 mins and just toss water bottles at them from the stage. OH OH OH and for the finale water down the audience with a garden hose!!!!!!

Dear MoveOn member,
Your living room could be the place where Barack Obama clinches the Democratic nomination for president.

After two more victories last night, Obama is on a 10 for 10 winning streak—with millions of new people coming out to vote for change. Clinton adviser James Carville says that if Obama wins Texas on March 4, "This thing is done."

There are over 125,000 progressive MoveOn members in Texas. Many don't know that under the unusual primary-plus-caucus system in Texas, voters can double their impact.

So on Sunday, March 2, the energy of the Obama movement will burst into living rooms across the nation as folks come armed with cell phones, ready to call thousands of Texas MoveOn members. At these Obama parties, we'll let folks know where to go for the primary and caucus—and help put Obama over the top.

Can you host a "Yes We Can" Obama party in Austin on Sunday, March 2, at 4 p.m.? To host a party, click here:

http://pol.moveon.org/event/events/create.html?action_id=111&id=12179-8566502-EUnnae&t=650

If you've missed the rallies and events so far, now's the moment to jump into the Obama movement. (If you don't support Obama and would rather not get emails from us about the Democratic primary, just click here.)

If you host, we'll get you all the materials you'll need and we'll help build the crowd. Folks will bring their own cell phones. You will need a computer or phone with a fairly loud speaker—so folks can listen to a national conference call at the beginning of the event. (We'll likely have a special guest.)

MoveOn members can make a uniquely large impact in Texas. Folks in Texas can actually vote twice on March 4! That's right—once in a primary during the day, then in a caucus at night. While the primary determines 2/3 of the Texas delegates, 1/3 will be determined by caucuses that far fewer people will attend.

New polls show Obama neck-and-neck with Clinton in the Texas primary.1 That means a large progressive turnout can edge him over the top in the primary—and then create a landslide in the caucuses. By rallying MoveOn members to vote and caucus, we can make Obama the definitive winner in Texas! And then, "This thing is done."2

There are lots of folks who'll want to make calls March 2—but today we need someone in your neighborhood to step up and host. Please sign up to host a "Yes We Can" Obama party here:

Thanks for all you do.

If someone were to do this, it would be best if they played the part of a highly misguided Obama supporter. Convey an almost hysterical fear of "global jihad", and talk about Obama's "courage" for voting to reauthorize the PATRIOT ACT even in the face of "unpatriotic naysayers" and "terrorist lovers" who thought we shouldn't let terrorists scare us into destroying our own Bill of Rights. "It's called the PATRIOT act, for God's sake, why WOULDN'T he vote for it?!"

Make sure everyone there knows to that if they really want to sell Obama to their friends to talk about his foreign policy advisor, Zbigniew Brzensk. As award-winning journalist Allan Nairn said on Democracy Now:

ALLAN NAIRN: Well, Obama’s top adviser is Zbigniew Brzezinski. Brzezinski gave an interview to the French press a number of years ago where he boasted about the fact that it was he who created the whole Afghan jihadi movement, the movement that produced Osama bin Laden. And he was asked by the interviewer, “Well, don’t you think this might have had some bad consequences?” And Brzezinski replied, “Absolutely not. It was definitely worth it, because we were going after the Soviets. We were getting the Soviets.” Another top Obama person—

AMY GOODMAN: I think his comment actually was, “What’s a few riled-up Muslims?” And this, that whole idea of blowback, the idea of arming, financing, training the Mujahideen in Afghanistan to fight the Soviets, including Osama bin Laden, and then when they’re done with the Soviets, they set their sights, well, on the United States.

"SEE!? If we didn't create the terrorists we're 'fighting' now how could we have ever implemented the PATRIOT act!? With Brzezinski back in the saddle we'll have no problem creating enough enemies to pass ALL KINDS of NEW, PATRIOTIC LEGISLATION!"

And so on...

I think the idea would be to do it totally deadpan. Give them all of the shocking information that they've probably never heard about Obama, but act as though you think they're actually good reasons to vote for him (think Stephen Colbert). You will come off as a crazy person, but it will illustrate that only a crazy person would try to make the case that he's a good person to run the country in light of all of the things you are revealing.

We could get a chip-in going to fly the guy behind http://www.obamala.com there, to be a "Secret, Special Guest Speaker!"

And big thumbs up to the JFK/Obama video. Do it subtly, by skewering him with his own words. There is no more sure assassin than one's own words, when you are hollow like these fakers!

Very, very funny. To add a point...

Go on and on about how grateful you are that Obama is co-sponsoring the bill with McCain to develop a healthcare plan for Mexico! Texans will LOVE that!

Austin is ridiculous.

if you wanna destroy obama in Austin, put up a sign that says, "don't be a racist, vote for me"

Since that's the "change" or whatever Obama is talking about... skin color, nothing more...

racist pig.

but anyway, that's why all the white pseudo libs in austin have "a crush on obama"

i think it'd be best to leave their party to them.... maybe just show up as a guest.

as a matter of fact, the austin meetup could probably scrounge up a few hundred "guests"
if they tried at all.

at an obama party?

anymore, it seems like half of austin's pop. is nothing more than yankee transplants w/ no perspective on immigration or the larger cultural issues at play...

spreading that would most likely get a, "well someone has to give it to them, they aren't getting any now... and if we can afford the war, i mean, come on it's costing us XXXX amount/day."

PRANK THEM!

Host the thing and give a supposedly Pro-Obama speech that just recounts the facts about his neo-con voting record. See how long it takes the Communists to realize that their False Hope for Change is a charade. Then the Austin MUG crashes the party and enlightenment breaks out...
