I live in southern NH, and my job takes me all over the state of NH. In my travels I've only seen four Ron Paul signs. (I don't have one myself, but I'm working on it) ..All four are within a three or four mile radius of each other, in Goffstown NH. They're huge signs, and they all require quite a bit of wood to keep them up. Two of them are on private property, and the other two are on the side of two very well traveled roads.

Yesterday I noticed that one of the signs (on state property) was knocked over. I initially passed it off as maybe having been blown over from the traffic, wind etc. I went back to work and grabbed four huge rocks to place under the two by four feet. Upon my arrival, I noticed that someone had actually snapped the one by one braces. It was quite obvious that it wasn't the wind. Someone had to have kicked the braces in order to get them to snap. I stood the sign back up and placed a rock under each foot, and I drove of feeling pretty good about what I had just done.

I drove by two hours later and the sign was no where to be seen. Needless to say, it really pisses me off. Today I drove by one of the signs that's in someone's yard and noticed that one of the one by one braces was snapped. The sign was still standing (a little crooked but still standing) It obviously had been sabotaged in the same way, but whoever did it didn't go all the way through with it. Probably because it's one someone's yard. I'll be interested to see its condition tomorrow.

If this happens to anyone, please take the time to set up a camera and file charges. You can get cameras that takes pictures from a motion sensor and others you can plug into your computer.

Congressman Ron Paul will be attending a picnic in Strafford, NH on Saturday, August 18th. The picnic will be hosted by the Strafford County GOP, and will begin at 12:00 PM, running till 5:00 PM. This is will be a great opportunity for Ron Paul supporters in New Hampshire to have some fun, great food, and hear the Congressman speak.

to the rally, get the meetup members there and pick up the free press. His signs are dissappearing from Mass as well, I hear. They want absolutely noone to know he even exists.

I agree. Let's get the little SOBs on video. It might make interesting coverage on the local news. ;)

Thanks for the input, folks. Setting up a camera at each of these locations would be impossible for me. Although, I should probably stop by each of the two residences and let the homeowner know.

Around here when people do that they put it on the news. Maybe you should try to contact the local news stations and see if they'll give it some air time. Might cause people to check him out because of sympathy lol.

I live in a little podunk town in Tennessee called Soddy Daisy and my campaign signs were stolen too. But then again when my son ran for (and won) sophomore class president last year his signs were shredded. Unfortunately there is a certain element in society that likes to vandalize.

dude, Nashua is the WORST, I put up signs and they disappear real fast. Hudson has been good , they seem to last longer there. I am doing good keeping them up though, about to make my rounds again within the next week. I've got 30-40 signs left. :)

Honestly, I'm surprised. I met quite a few New Hampshirites during my years in Boston, and they seem like the type who would mostly welcome Ron with open arms.

I guess it's easy to get drunk and go sign-hunting, though. And let's be honest, there's not much else to do there.

where life and limb become a priority - use a tree, bridge etc. Magnets superglued to the back put up with a pole, be creative. Let some nut fall off a bridge trying to get at it. Thats good PR.

I think someone said that NH is being invaded from socialists from the south

If it only took two hours for someone to come back agian... I wouldn't mind waiting two hours to bust some vandal's ass. Good luck.

I thought about driving around with a ladder, putting signs up, out of the reach of the neo-cons, but I should worry about getting a sign for my own front yard first.

If anyone's got signs, I've got the truck and the ladder.

Sounds like a good time to exercise the 2nd Amendment :D

I have never understood this. Are people really that scared of signs?

Whenever I put them up, I put them up close to where the other candidates put theirs, yet mine disappear. I have been tempted to do the same to them, but I just couldn't bring myself to stoop to that level.

FYI, deadly force is never authorized for the protection of property. Human life is always more protected than property. If you feel your physical safety is threatened then you may have a self-defense defense.

This is only a joke: So, if you do shoot them make sure they have a gun, or as many police like to say they made a 'furtive' gesture towards something that looked like a gun (a wallet, cell phone, tree branch [yes, a homeless man armed with a tree branch was shot dead by two cops], or coke bottle) and you felt your life was endangered and you tried to flee but was unable to and so only then did you shoot them.

Cover the sign with Vaseline, cant been seen from the street and anyone who touches it will be surprised to say the least...:)

I say hook up an electric fence charger to thin 40 gauge wire wrapped all over the sign. You couldn't see the wire because it is so thin, but it would still knock an adult man about 10 feet. If you do this, then you have to video record it for sure and show it to us! :)

I didn't say we should shoot anyone, but merely exercising our right to carry :p

Fence in the sign. Inside the fence place a doghouse. Regularly bring food and fresh water. Insert large dog. ;)

The camera might work too.. but I hate to suggest putting yet another camera up.

Shoot them with a pellet gun. Or a shotgun with rock salt.

In Texas our rules are a little different.

You could set up an electrical current in the posts... anything that touches them with any force greater than 1 pound per square inch, you can have a mp3 player hooked up to loud speakers fire off that says.

VERY LOUD

" LOOK AT ME, I LOVE WATCHING NAKED LITTLE BOYS. LOOKE AT ME NEAR THIS RON PAUL SIGN. "

It shows how little respect some have for private property. I doubt that many of them were against RP specifically, though; they probably have never heard of him and are just random vandals and thieves.

Hang a couple dead rabbit carcasses from the sign and they probably won't get near it.

Probably not a good idea if it's a small sign right near high-traffic area places though if you know what I mean...

Cover the sign with pepper spray, poison ivy, or some other skin irritant. That way whoever is destroying the signs leaving with a burning/itching and is discouraged from doing it again.

The best thing you can do is make it a story in the local news.

This is nothing new to campaigning. I remember driving down the road placing signs and coming back the other side and all the signs I placed were already gone. Seems there was someone following me ripping them as soon as I placed them.

And a freind of mine from the Seatle area who was working on Al Gore's campaign told me that his group had an end of campaign party where they built a huge bon fire just from all the Ralph Nader signs that they picked up collectively.

The answer? Drive down a normally very busy, well traveled highway during the night time hours with a friend. (this is what we do in our area). One person gets dropped off with a ladder, the sign, and the stuff to secure the sign in a tree.

You climb up pretty high and attach your sign well. This serves more than one purpose.
For one thing, its very prominant and people driving down the road can't help but see the sign.

And since you basically risked you life to put it up there, whoever wants to take it down, will have to risk their life as well.

Just ask them. Is it really worth it?

Another thing that I am working on in my area is to get as many people as we can together and simply walk down a road, each one holding a sign and attempt to span as many miles as we can so that drivers will encounter the Ron Paul message over and over and over again.
