After all our social networking platforms begin to break down, we could gravitate toward a centralized place in which to stay together and promote our ideals. What do you think?

The John Birch Society supports all of Ron Paul's ideas. We already have infrastructure, don't re-create the wheel.

http://jbs.meetup.com/Yes, but we have a fresh new name that will fold all those other organizations into ours.

Unfortunately, the John Birch Society has a lot of stigma tied to its name. There's use in creating/finding another society to join.

I was just thinking about that this morning while driving to work. I think it's a good idea.

I've been saying this for months now. Grassroots efforts being spread out isn't such a bad thing, but after the elections we will need a centralized plan. We need to be able to all organize around an effort instantly, rather than, getting information from 15 sources and groups that we are part of. I've thought, Ron Paul should form this society or his son. That we can integrate through agreement other groups into the umbrella through operating behind the message and not through profit alone. That we could have the biggest mailing list out of any group and lobby for changes in laws, etc. Not only this, but we could have a candidate verfication process for local offices around the states and nation. It will be too confusing without a centralized process for verifying potential candidate for office.

The stigma comes from smear tactics, not facts. Do you think the media would be any kinder to a fresh, new organization committed to liberty? The Ron Paul presidential campaign shows otherwise.

The JBS got labelled as white supremacists and other things - the media would immediately go the same route with the RPS, and throw in 9/11 truthers, kooks, tin foil hat brigade....

Don't get me wrong I love the idea, but a new name and face will not give John Brichers or other lovers of freedom a fresh start with no baggage - the media will insure that.

What Ron Paul really ought to create is a shadow government which would critique the next administration's every move.

Though this may end up being a divisive issue, there are those of us who would very much like to see an organization formed that does not discuss Biblical or Christian values. I simply think we are at a point as a nation where we can discuss the politics of liberty from a logical perspective without having to transgress many people's religious beliefs (or lack thereof).

JBS isn't exactly that society.

Of course, a hope for such an organization may be a pipe dream given the deplorable stigma attached with atheism in American society and politics.

I joined FF a few months ago. I never got any confirmation and nobody contacted me. How does it work?

It took a couple of days before I got confirmation when I joined, but I did get it. I'd try e-mailing them or calling them.

I personally think this is a great idea, and would love to see Ron Paul honored in the process. Maybe it's corny, but something with his name in it to show this movement had a rebirth with him at the helm....

Just a thought....

I don't think it is corny. The man deserves to be honored! What better way than a Ron Paul Society. Also, everyone currently apart of this revolution (especially the newcomers and young patriots) associate Ron Paul with the revolution ... I think it makes perfect sense!

Not to mention we really really need a push to coin the phrase "Ron Paul Republicans"!!

About Us
What is Restore The Republic?

Founded by Aaron Russo in 2007 shortly before he lost his battle with cancer, "Restore the Republic!" is the cry from the lips of those Americans who have learned the truth about the land in which we live. It is the movement of those people to action to complete the call. It is real, it is organic, it is grassroots, it is the epicenter. It is the most powerful force for change our republic has ever seen.

How about something like a Reagan Party instead of Ron Paul? We look like the cult of Ron Paul and the MSM has been bashing Ron Paul since the campaign started. Although, I think taking Dr. Paul's platform is a great idea for a political party.

Besides, the two supported each other's politics for years and a lot of people are considering Reagan as the champion of Conservatism from the past... They would catch a lot of negativity by bashing the former President from people who loved him (which are many many).

That would be interesting. That's (more or less) how it's done in Westminster parliaments, such as England, Australia, New Zealand. It would be good for the media to have set people to whom they can refer for a comment after each action by their counterpart. Of course, if the media doesn't play ball, you just end up looking silly, and talking amongst yourselves, issuing press releases that no-one ever picks up.
