View Full Version : How Much Would You Risk?

READ AND UNDERSTAND BEFORE YOU VOTE!

Just curious, how much would you risk for the cause?
I like the idea of the march in Washington D.C. which is
being worked on right now. But I think we can do much
more locally while the march is finalized.

Yesterday, President's Day, I joined a bunch of Los Angeles
grassrooters and did some slim-jim give outs at 3rd Street
Promenade Santa Monica. I was still surprised that how many
people didn't know who Ron Paul was. One Huckabee supporter
told me he thought Ron Paul was running under the Democratic
party.

It seems to me that to get attention, to get people talking
and possibly hearing the message, which I believe is more
important than the person, is either to have a VERY large
crowd (hopefully we'll have that in DC) or to cause enough
disruption to get noticed.

Hence, my question to see how far would people go? How far
would you go? How far would you push the "limits"? I'm not
talking anything extreme, immoral or "illegal." But are any of
you folks ready to put yourself in a position to potentially get
arrested similar to these anti-war protesters? (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/23/AR2005112302185.html)

(wait for the poll...)

I have been in cuffs before lol, this however would actually be for a good cause but no I would not CAUSE anything to happen to create a buzz. That is one of the most insane ways of promoting peace that I have ever heard.

I would stand my ground and get arrested no problem but NO I dont think anyone is down to create something so we can get attention and if people do try and do that I will be one of the ones slamming them the fuck on the ground and telling them to do that bull somewhere else.

Fighting cops is not something that EVER gets displayed in the news correctly and they WILL make it so it was US who did something FIRST even if we did not.

Standing your ground is one thing but blatant stupidity is totally different.

same topic different idea though, why dont we protest at mccains pad and everywhere that guy goes. Cause a buzz that way.....

Also dont think I assumed this topic was meaning attack or fight BUT just wanting to make that clear because I see some saying some nonsense once they get posting in here.

I voted no, I will not be entered into a database and be branded a "Homegrown Terrorist" or "Anti-government Conspirator". Who do you think they will come looking for first when TSHTF?

Getting arrested just makes for bad press, not actual change. It makes you look like either an extremist or a criminal.

If being arrested did anything, Cindy Sheehan would have ended the war by now, :/

The results of the poll are certainly interesting. Thanks for your honesty.

Note that I wasn't suggesting anything "extreme, immoral or 'illegal'". I
was pointing out that you could be arrested even if your protest was a peaceful
one (as the link in the OP demonstrated).

During the President's Day outing (I'll call it) I noticed a few things that
were interesting to say the least (at least for me). One was I saw stickers
being applied to poles. Now, I am pretty sure you could at least be cited
for this as it would be considered vandalism.

How many of you that voted "No" have ever put a "RP" sticker on a pole,
newsbox (or whatever they are called), or on some random wall?

For all we know, just by being active on this forum we could very well already be listen in an "Anti-government Conspirator" database. ;)
