DON'T VOTE!!!!

Hear me out... I'm all for people using their, paid for in blood, right to vote but I think the majority of people don't even know why they are voting. I'm starting to think the "Rock the Vote" and other "get out the vote" efforts havn't been the best idea.

The reason being is because many people think you should vote even if you don't know why you are voting...I've even seen many post that say..go out and vote today..even if you don't know who to vote for go vote because it is important...

woh woh woh back up a second!!! --even if you don't know how to vote for - because it is "important"

the "important thing" is to know who you are voting for and most importantly WHY and if you don't you SHOULDN'T vote, because then you are just an ignorant voter who will vote for whomever they hear most about on the tv(good or bad). There needs to be a paradigm shift in the way we think about voting...

I say this...

NEVER VOTE unless you know WHO and WHY you are voting for that person. To vote for someone without knowing why you are doing so is a detriment to the system...look at our current president...re-elected by ignorant people who think the "terrorists" attack us because we are "free" and the same people that think we can promote peace and democracy through the barrel of a gun. I would even venture to say that majority of the people would not be able to tell you how the candidate they voted for stands on the majority of issues or how their voting record (if applicable) can prove it or disprove it.

Small bit of Proof -

100 year McCain recieved 34% of the Anti-War vote in New Hampshire and McBomb Iran is the most war hungry candidate.

I'm too tired to continue with other stats but it continues like this for just about every state...it's a testimate to how uniformed voters can destroy America and how the media can possibly manipulate elections - if they aren't already doing so.

I proprose this:

Let the people that give a fuck enough about the country to look up who they are voting for and know why they are voting for them make the descisions and DON'T VOTE unless you are one of those people!

I guess in closing I'm just saying this - I'm scared that American politics has just become a popularity contest and that the issues don't really matter anymore thus the "vote no matter who" mentality that thrusts people into voting for the most popular or "electable" candidate portrayed by the media.

Comments and Conversation welcome.

I hope you realize that you can vote for anyone. Even... Mickey Mouse.

I'll be writing in Ron Paul if the GOP can't come to their senses.

This idea has been going around in my head for weeks...

a Stop The Vote Campaign

based on these same priciples...

we should have a test to vote.. mmm something like

1) Name the people that are running?
2) Name one position for each candidate...

sorta joking about the test... but......

Yes, and you know what, I'm all for people voting for McCain or whomever as long as they know why they are doing it and what they can expect from a "insert candidate here" presidency.

Why You Should Write-in Mickey Mouse... (http://www.ubersite.com/m/26396)
Mickey Mouse received more write-in votes for President than any other... (http://jyte.com/cl/mickey-mouse-has-received-more-write-in-votes-for-u.s.-president-than-any-other-write-in-candidate-in-history)

Voting for Mickey Mouse is no more of a wasted vote than voting for anyone else without knowing why

I realize this post isn't made for this forum..it's more for people to copy and paste in blogs or bulletin boards if you agree... and to stir up conversation about the possibility of the destruction of America through GOTV....
