not to sound like Rudy but,

I was there.

I only got to see Ron Paul at the other minirally that he held after the first big one. I was hoping to get a pic with the man, but alas, the wait was way too long and I all but gave up trying to wrestle through a wall of ppl surrounding him.

Absolutely splendid rally. We got there at 3:05 and the line was wrapping around three corners of the rather spacious University Union's third floor. Sadly my friends and I were ushered into the 'overflow room' where an audio feed was supposed to pipe the speech to us live. Though they'd tested the system earlier in the afternoon the wireless transmission was broken up and so we anxiously flooded back in front of the main room and waited while the organizers and Congressman Paul's staff worked to figure out a security buffer and riser platform for the overflow room and a second speech. Congressman Paul finished his first speech, came into the other room to deliver an abbreviated version (15 minutes maybe?), and then disappeared to a much needed press conference. For those of us in the overflow, we were treated to speeches from his sister-in-law and youngest brother and I think we lucked out with the very personal and touching mini-speeches they delivered.

After the main event(s) we all pooled out in front of the liberty bell (and slightly confusing 10 commandments) and Congressman Paul rang the bell, shook hands, signed autographs, and joked with the audience. I've never seen so many supporters in the past year in this area and it was exciting to have everybody pulsing with the vibe of freedom.

For anybody seeking an interpretation of the speech or Congressman Paul's outlook for the campaign, I personally thought he seemed very confident in having accomplished the ultimate goal of reinvigorating discussions of monetary policy, peaceful foreign policy, and defense of liberty among such a diverse and youthful group of people. I can't speak for the first speech, but the second speech talked little about the Presidency and focused almost exclusively on transmitting the message. He emphasized that the changes we need to bring about won't happen in a Presidential term, but could and should happen in a generation.

As my sweetie pointed out, he never really seems to push the Presidency thing ("when I am President, I will blahblah") and this is one of the great characteristics we all appreciate in him.

It was exciting. Wish I could be in Austin and Killeen this weekend. I wish America could see this man and his ideals for what they offer us.

And I wish I could have had an ORIGINAL version of the CotUSA instead of my printed copy for him to sign. ;)

I was there....on crutches! lol. My first ever political rally...it was awesome. I arrived a bit late and was in the overflow room, but then got access to go to the actual room and got to see the last 15-20 minutes of his speech, and then got to hear him again in the overflow room. Seeing him in person just re-energizes me that much more!

Great to see that our cries for more personal security for Dr. Paul have been answered. Looks like he has a very professional security force around him.

That was the UNT police force. They were top-notch. A lot of them seemed to be into the message, they were eager to get a group picture with him at the end.

I was there too and remember seeing you right in front of me in the main room. (unless it was another guy on crutches and a black boot) It's too bad I got there early because you guys in the overflow room got a better view and we early birds had green bracelets that kept us out of the overflow room. There was another older guy there in a wheelchair and he literally stood out of his chair on a cane to applaud paul. I wish I had a video of that, really showed the power of the message.

I had a grey boot on my right foot but I only saw one guy crutches and that was me lol. Lol I was in the overflow room with my dad but then decided to go try to get in the big room...which I did and then went back to the other room to see him speak again. I could stand all day just to hear Ron Paul speak :D

Mike Huckabee will be at the Spring Creek Collin County Community College campus on Wednesday the 20th at 7:30 pm

Please, we need Ron Paul supporters to politely show up; this could be a great opportunity to convert some people.

Thank you

Uh please don't relax! There aren't that many large colleges in the 14th district.
