I could have sworn that there was a Debate listed for the end of Feb on the RonPaul2008 website. Is that still going to happen?

I hear Clinton and Ron Paul are going and they will be giving speeches. There will be no debate because McInsane, Huckabee and Obama do not want to debate.

From what I can gather, MSNBC was trying to have two energy debates in Houston, one for each party. This has been cancelled as only Hillary and Ron accepted. Hilldog and Ron are now giving speeches. This is on the 28th

Also, CNN was trying to have Ohio debates for each party, with the GOP on the 28th.

But, it doesn't look like that is happening either.

Why would they not want to debate? That just seems crazy to not want to get more nationwide media coverage.

They are afraid they might screw up their campaigns by talking. Pretty valid concern if you ask me...

They are winning, why risk getting smoked by RP on national TV?

McCain is the front runner. Why would he want to debate? He has nothing to gain at this point.

I'd like to see Ron Paul and HRC debate. Heck, I'd go to PPV for that.

McCain and Huckabee don't need more coverage as much as they need Ron Paul to not get coverage, especially a side-by-side comparison watched by millions.

There's a lot of people who don't like either one of them very much and still don't know much about Ron Paul, or don't even know that he exists. With just three candidates on the stage it would be impossible for them to overlook him, and most would finally see him as they obvious choice.

I just met a person like this on Saturday while visiting a friend in a rural area. He was a man in his forties, and he showed up half-drunk at our campfire and started talking politics. He expressed his discontent with the remaining candidates (Huckabee, McCain, Hillary, Obama) and described his ideal candidate, which was Ron Paul to a T. He obvioiusly got a pep talk and a DVD from me, but there's a whole new batch of people like him who are now ready to discover Ron Paul, having missed him when the field was wider, and having now realized that it is narrowed down to a handful of people that they don't like. McCain and Huckabee know this and they know that a debate would introduce him to a lot of these people who will otherwise hold their nose and pick one of them.

This is true. Just two weeks ago I talked to an acquaintence of mine at work, he had no clue as to who Ron Paul was or what his positions were.

Now he is going to vote for him.

Sad and slow but true, this is done one voter at a time.

Damn, I wanted to see Paul debate McCain and Huckabee :( !

Paul's speech will be on national TV, though, right?

Not sure if that's true. The Republican debate may have been cancelled, if you believe these sources:

that's odd because obama just said on TV like 45 minutes ago he would be debating Clinton in Ohio.

If it devolves into a speech, you can bet Hillary will be on prime time and Ron will be a 2a.m. web exclusive. You know, because that's where his support is.

So, if there's a debate in Austin the preceding week, Ron has not been invited presumably.
