Fiat money only works if it's backed up by taxation power.

It is true that the government could directly issue and spend its own money, rather than going through a central bank and having debt-based money. The international banking cartel would never allow this to happen.

If a government directly printed and spent its own money, without a central bank, that government would become incredibly powerful.

Gold still works just fine as a currency, without having to have a centeral controller. It can't grow at the whim of politicians, so it can't be inflated. We should just use it.
